Yardbook alternatives, with the free part said plainly.

Yardbook gives lawn care and snow businesses a free plan with scheduling, routing, estimates, invoices and card payments. That's more free invoicing than Redline offers. Here's when an alternative still makes sense, and when it doesn't.

What Yardbook gives away, and what it charges for

Yardbook is business software for lawn care, landscaping and snow removal, solo operators included. The free Starter plan, which Yardbook says is paid for by sponsored ads, covers customers, jobs and scheduling, estimates, invoices, routing, expenses, reports, lot measurement from satellite images, employee access, card payments and a product catalog. Its crew iOS app works offline.

Yardbook's pricing page lists Business at $34.99 a month, which adds bulk email and texting, GPS tracking, automatic invoice reminders, multi-step chemical programs and lead capture, and waives Yardbook's processing fees. Enterprise, at $49.99, adds QuickBooks sync and a branded company portal.

Straight up: if you want to mow, plow and invoice without paying anything, Yardbook's free plan does more than Redline's, which has no invoicing at all. People look elsewhere when they'd rather not have ads in their business software, or when they'd rather run the week by typing a sentence than by working through screens. Two-way comparison: Redline vs Yardbook.

Questions contractors ask

Is Redline free for lawn care?

Partly. Scheduling, repeating mows, contacts, the pipeline and quotes are free with no end date. Invoicing starts on Solo at $29 a month. If free invoicing matters most, Yardbook's Starter plan includes it.

Can Redline measure a lot?

No. There's no satellite measurement. Send a photo in the chat with the square footage or the number of cuts, and Redline builds the quote from that.

Should I switch from Yardbook?

Only if the chat saves you enough time to be worth $29 a month once you invoice, or you want a crew board on Team. Run Redline Free next to Yardbook for a couple of weeks before you move billing. See lawn care invoicing.
