Redline
Solar installation

Solar software for a six-month sale.

A solar job can sit between the site survey and a signature for months, then run through permits, install, inspection and PTO. Redline keeps every homeowner followed up, every quote on file and every milestone billed.

Monday: who's gone quiet

Which solar quotes have gone quiet?
Redline

3 have sat in Quoted for more than two weeks:

Brannigan, 8.4 kW with battery, $31,200 (21 days)

Castillo, 6.2 kW, $19,800 (16 days)

Nguyen, 10 kW ground mount, $34,500 (15 days)

Want a follow-up drafted for Brannigan first?

Yes. Mention the incentive deadline at year end. And remind me Monday to call Castillo.
Redline

Follow-up to Brannigan is drafted from your Gmail with the year-end deadline. Review it before it goes. Reminder set for Monday: call Castillo.

Emails go out from your own Gmail only after you review them. Reminders arrive in the morning push on the iPhone app.

Built for how solar actually sells and installs

Follow-up across a long cycle

Every homeowner sits in the pipeline with the days in stage counting up. Home flags quotes gone quiet, and date reminders bring the callback back to the top of your morning. See solar CRM.

Per-watt quotes with options

Tell Redline the system size, panel count and inverter, and it drafts the lines: modules, racking, install per watt, permitting and interconnection. Offer panels only, panels plus battery, and a bigger system as good, better and best in the quote composer (Solo and up).

Milestone billing, one invoice at a time

Bill the signing deposit, the install payment and the PTO payment as separate invoices when each one comes due. Each gets its own card pay link and overdue alerts. Invoicing is on Solo and up.

Survey photos on the job

Attach the site survey photos (roof planes, main panel, meter) to the job, so the designer and the install crew work from the same pictures. Send them in the chat too and Redline reads them for the quote.

Install day with the electrician

On Team and up, put the installers and your electrician on the job from the board, or group two of them in one truck for the day. Techs tap En route and On job, and never see the contract price.

Status updates without the phone tag

Ask Redline to draft a short update for the homeowner (permit submitted, inspection booked, waiting on the utility) and send it from your own Gmail. See email.

Where solar time really goes

A small solar outfit runs two businesses at once. One is sales: site surveys, proposals, financing questions, and a lot of homeowners who say "let us think about it" and then go quiet for six weeks. The other is projects: permit applications, utility interconnection, install crews, inspections and PTO. Both leak money when nobody is following up.

Redline handles the follow-up side well. The pipeline has the same six stages for every trade (Lead, Quoted, Accepted, In Progress, Paid, Lost), so the project steps that matter in solar (permit submitted, install booked, inspection passed, PTO granted) go in the job's notes. The chat can tell you which projects are sitting and draft the email that moves them.

Money follows the milestones. Bill the deposit when they sign, the next payment when the panels are on the roof and the last one at PTO. If a lender pays you directly, invoice only the homeowner's share and log the lender payment on the file.

An honest fit check for solar

Redline does

  • Keep long-cycle leads followed up with reminders and Gmail drafts
  • Quote systems per watt or per panel, with or without a battery
  • Bill deposits and milestone payments by card (Solo and up)
  • Staff install days on a crew board (Team and up)
  • Keep survey photos and notes with each project

Redline doesn't

  • Design arrays or run shade and production reports
  • Track utility interconnection or PTO applications
  • Offer customer financing or handle lender paperwork
  • Bill milestones on a schedule by itself
  • Text homeowners status updates (email them from Gmail instead)

Questions contractors ask

Can I add pipeline stages like Permit and PTO?

No. The stages are fixed: Lead, Quoted, Accepted, In Progress, Paid and Lost. Keep a project In Progress from install to PTO and use the job notes for the steps in between.

Can I quote per watt?

Yes. Tell Redline "8.4 kW at $2.95 a watt installed" and it drafts the line, then adds the battery, panel upgrade or trenching you mention. It remembers your per-watt rate for next time.

Will my sales reps and installers each need a seat?

Yes. Everyone in the workspace holds a seat, the owner included. Team includes 3 seats for $129 a month and Team+ includes 10 for $299, with extra seats at $29 each.

How do homeowners pay?

On Solo and up, by card on a pay link that runs on your own Stripe account, with no Redline fee on top of Stripe's processing. Bank transfers aren't available on the pay page.
