Redline
Landscaping

Landscaping software for the spring rush.

Everyone wants their beds done the same three weeks in April. Redline turns your walk-around into a bid in yards and feet, bills the deposit so you can order plants, and puts each crew on the right property.

From walk-around to crew assignment

Quote the Hollis front beds: bed prep 600 sq ft, 9 yards dark hemlock, 220 ft of steel edging, six 3-gallon boxwoods, one load of debris. 40% deposit to order plants.

Good. When can Luis's crew fit it in next week?
Redline

Luis's crew is open Tuesday morning, and they're already in Wellesley that afternoon. Book Hollis Tuesday at 8 and put it on their phones?

Putting crews on jobs is on the Team plan and up. Deposits and invoices are on Solo and up.

How Redline fits landscape work

Bids in yards, feet and plants

Mulch and topsoil by the cubic yard, sod and pavers by the square foot, edging by the linear foot, plants by the each. Tell Redline the quantities and it lays out the bid. See landscaping estimates.

Deposit first, then the nursery order

Put a deposit percentage on the quote and bill it when they say yes, so the plants and stone are paid for before you order. On Solo and up.

Several crews, one board

On Team and up, each crew lead gets the tech app and the board shows who's where. Two people sharing a truck? Group them for the day. See crew dispatch.

Spring and fall cleanups

Last year's cleanup customers are in the pipeline under Paid. Filter by town and the past year, then have Redline draft the "want us back this spring?" email from your Gmail.

Maintenance on a cadence

Biweekly bed maintenance or a monthly visit repeats from one save, up to 52 visits. Save the cadence as a preset like "Biweekly beds".

Dig Safe and HOA notes on the job

Put the locate ticket number, HOA approval and the gate code for the backyard in the job notes, and a "confirm the locate is marked" line in the notes the crew sees.

A landscaper's season, start to finish

Spring is the rush: cleanups, mulch, new beds, sod, and every customer wants theirs before Mother's Day. Summer is install season, with patios, walls and plantings that need materials ordered and crews coordinated. Fall brings cleanups and planting again, and winter is quiet or turns into plowing.

The money side is lumpy. Hardscape and design-build jobs need a deposit before you buy stone and plants, and maintenance is billed per visit or monthly. Redline handles both on Solo and up: deposits on the quote, invoices by chat, and overdue alerts at day 3, 7 and 14 that tell you which customer to call.

If you also mow, keep it in the same account. Maintenance visits sit on the same calendar as installs, and the lawn care side works the same way.

Fit check for landscapers

Redline does

  • Build bids from your quantities in yards, feet and plants
  • Bill deposits before you order materials (Solo and up)
  • Run several crews from a dispatch board (Team and up)
  • Repeat maintenance visits on a set cadence
  • Draft seasonal follow-ups to past customers

Redline doesn't

  • Do material takeoffs from a site plan or drawing
  • Make design drawings or plant lists
  • Track plant warranties or replacements
  • Optimize routes by drive time (it groups by town)
  • Text customers or crews (crews get crew chat on Team and up)

Questions contractors ask

Can Redline work out how much mulch I need?

It does the arithmetic you ask for in the chat ("600 sq ft at 3 inches, how many yards?"), but it isn't a takeoff tool. Check the number against your own measure before you order.

How many crews can I run?

Team includes 3 seats for $129 a month, counting you. Team+ includes 10 seats for $299, and you can add more at $29 each. Every crew member in the app uses a seat.

Can I bill maintenance monthly?

Yes, by message: "invoice the Garcias for 4 maintenance visits in May". Redline doesn't bill on a schedule by itself, so each invoice is one you approve.
