Redline
Crew dispatch

Every truck's day on one board. No tracking anyone.

When you hire your first tech, the day stops fitting in your head. The Crew tab gives you one row per tech with their jobs and status, and your techs get a stripped-down app with their day, the job checklist and crew chat. Assign by drag or by chat and their phone updates on the spot.

Shuffling the day at 7am

Put Joey on the Aurora job and give the Bishop disposal swap to Luis.
Redline

Done. Joey has the Aurora job at 1:00 and it's on his phone now. Luis has the Bishop disposal swap at 3:30, after his Linden St visit.

What's still unassigned today?
Redline

Two jobs: the Kowalski drain at 11:00 and the Trent water heater at 2:00. Luis shows Idle right now.

Assigning jobs applies right away. Crew features are on Team and Team+.

How a crew day runs

  1. Build the day on the board

Today shows one row per tech with their status, progress and jobs, plus an Unassigned row. Drag a job onto a tech, or tell the chat. The calendar and the tech's phone update instantly.

  2. Techs tap their status

In the tech app they tap Idle, En route or On job. Your board also shows Off today, Done for the day and who's Next up.

  3. The job, on their phone

Each job opens to its checklist (before photos, the job, after photos) and your office notes, where the scope goes. One tap calls the customer, and Mark done closes it out.

  4. Questions go in the thread

Crew chat has a General channel and a thread for every job, so "which shutoff?" stays with the job it's about.

Stat cards up top

Jobs today, techs on the crew, jobs still unassigned, and money collected this week, at a glance.

Group for the day

Two techs, one truck, one shared route. Pair them for today only, every week on that day, or until you undo it.

Techs never see money

Job values, quotes and invoices are hidden from techs, and that's enforced in the database, not just hidden on screen.

Receipts from the field

Techs snap a receipt in their app and it's filed against the job, so materials land in your expenses.

Same app, different view

Techs sign into the same Redline app and land in the tech view. They get the app at no extra cost; each tech uses one of your plan's seats.

Still solo?

You'll see your own day and an "Add your first tech" card. If you picked "Just me" at signup, the Crew tab is hidden until you turn it on in Settings, under Appearance.

Straight answers before you switch

Redline does

  • Show every tech's day and status on one board
  • Assign jobs by drag or by chat
  • Give techs their jobs, checklists and notes on their phone
  • Keep crew questions in a thread per job
  • Keep prices and invoices away from techs

Redline doesn't

  • Track techs by GPS or location (status is tapped, by design)
  • Use maps, drive times or route optimization (it groups by town)
  • Run a time clock, timesheets or payroll
  • Track tech payouts

Questions contractors ask

Which plan do I need for dispatch?

Team, at $129 a month with 3 seats, or Team+ at $299 with 10 seats and extra seats at $29 each. You count as one seat, so Team covers you and two techs. See pricing.

Can I see where my techs are?

You see what they've tapped: Idle, En route or On job. Redline doesn't track location, so nobody's phone is reporting where they are.

Do techs pay for the app?

No. Techs get the app at no extra cost, but each tech takes one seat on your plan. Pending invites take a seat too. See team accounts.

Can a tech see what I charged the customer?

No. Techs never see job values, quotes or invoices.
