Redline
First hire

Your first hire, without the phone calls all day.

The day you hire a tech, you become a dispatcher. Redline Team is software for small contractor teams: a board to hand out jobs, an app that shows your tech just their day, and invoices and job values your tech never sees.

What changes with the first hire

On your own, the schedule lived in your head. Now someone else needs it. So you call him at 7 with the first address, he calls back at 9 for the gate code, you send him the next address from a roof, and at 3 you have no idea whether he's on the second job or at the supply house. At the end of the week you realize he could see what you charged the Delgados, because you forwarded him the whole email.

The fix isn't a fleet system. It's a shared day: you put jobs on him, his phone shows them with the notes he needs, he taps when he's on the way and when he's done, and the money stays on your side.

Handing off a job in one message

Put Joey on the Aurora Ave job and the Kim gutter repair.
Redline

Joey has Aurora Ave and the Kim gutter repair. The board, the calendar and his phone all show them now.

Is he on his way to Aurora?
Redline

Joey's status is En route. That's what he tapped in his app; Redline doesn't track location.

Assigning jobs by chat is on Team and Team+, and applies right away. Gate codes and scope go in the job's office notes, which he sees in his job details.

From hire to first job handed off

  1. Invite him

Send an invite link (also emailed from your Gmail if it's connected). It expires in 14 days. Give him the Tech role.

  2. He lands in the tech app

Techs get Today, job details with the checklist and office notes, a Done button, crew chat and one-tap calling. That's all they see.

  3. You drag jobs onto him

The Today board has a row per tech plus Unassigned. Drag a job across and his calendar and phone update at once. See crew dispatch.

  4. He taps his status

Idle, En route, On job. The board also shows Next up, Done for the day and Off today.

  5. You bill it

He marks the job done and it lands in your Ready to bill. He never sees the invoice.

Built for a crew of two or three

Techs never see money

Job values, quotes and invoices are hidden from techs, and it's enforced in the database, not just hidden on the screen.

A thread for every job

Crew chat has a General channel plus a thread per job, so the gate code and the photo of the leak stay with the job.

Two techs, one truck

Group two techs for the day so they share a route: today only, every week on that day, or until you undo it.

Receipts from the field

Techs snap a receipt for parts and file it to the job, so your job profit includes it. Amounts are typed.

Roles for the office too

Admin, Member, Office and Tech. See team accounts.

Straight answers before the first hire

Team does

  • Hand out jobs by drag or by chat
  • Show each tech only their day, with notes and checklists
  • Show tap-driven status on one board
  • Keep prices and invoices out of techs' view
  • Give the crew a chat thread per job

Team doesn't

  • Track techs by GPS or show their location
  • Do timesheets, clock-in or payroll
  • Track what you pay techs per job
  • Add seats beyond 3 (that's Team+)
  • Run as an Android app (Android phones use the browser, without push)

Questions contractors ask

Do my techs have to pay for the app?

No. Techs get the app at no extra cost; each tech uses one of your plan's seats.

Can a tech see what I charged the customer?

No. Techs can't see job values, quotes or invoices. That's enforced in the database.

I'm about to hire my third person. Which plan?

Team covers you plus two. With a third hire you'd be four people, which is Team+ at $299 a month with 10 seats.

Is there a free trial on Team?

No. The trial is on Solo. You can set Team up when the hire starts and change or cancel anytime. See pricing.

How do I know when he's done?

He taps Done on the job and the board updates. The job lands in Ready to bill on your side.
