Forty lawns, billed by the first.
Mowing is easy money to earn and tedious money to collect: forty customers, four or five visits each, a few extras, and the same three people who pay late every month. Redline turns the month into invoices and tells you who to call.
Month-end billing, start to finish
Pick how you bill
Per visit, a monthly total, or a season paid up front. Tell Redline your rates once ("Patel is $45 a mow, biweekly") and it remembers them.
Draft the month by chat
"Invoice Patel for October: mows on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th, plus an overgrown fee on the 3rd." Each date goes in the invoice line, so there's nothing to argue about.
Or send the batch
Finished jobs land in Money under Ready to bill. Check them over and hit Send all to invoice every one at once.
Get the pay links out
Each invoice gets a card pay link. Copy it, or paste it into an email Redline drafts for your own Gmail. Customers pay on their phone, on your own Stripe account.
Chase the few
With chasing on, unpaid invoices get flagged at day 3, 7 and 14 after sending, and Redline tells you who to call. Ask "who owes me?" any time for the list and the total.
October 31
Draft for Anil Patel: $320, "October: mows Oct 3, 10, 17, 24 at $45, overgrown fee Oct 3 ($20), leaf cleanup Oct 24, 2 hrs at $60." Due in 14 days. Approve?
Pay link's live. The email is drafted; paste in the pay link from the invoice in Money, then tap Approve & send. Three September invoices are still open, $410 in all: Grady ($180, day 14), Moreau ($135, day 7) and Liu ($95, day 3).
Invoicing and overdue alerts are on Solo ($29 a month) and up. Example prices only.
What goes on a lawn care invoice
- Each mow, by date. The single best way to end "you didn't come that week" calls
- Overgrown or extra-visit fee on the dates it applied
- Treatments per application: fertilizer, weed control, grub control
- Aeration and overseeding per 1,000 sq ft or flat
- Cleanups and leaf removal by the hour or by the bag
- Fuel surcharge, if you charge one
Small invoices, big pile
A $180 invoice isn't worth chasing on its own, which is exactly why lawn guys don't chase them. Forty of them is a truck payment. The work isn't the writing; it's knowing which three didn't pay and calling them before it's November.
Redline handles both halves. The invoices go out from the chat or as a batch, and the unpaid ones come back to you on day 3, 7 and 14 with a push on the iPhone app. Nothing goes to the customer on its own, so the reminder is still your call, but now you know who to make it to.
Straight answers on lawn billing
Redline does

- Take bank transfers, it's card only
- Text invoices or pay links
Questions contractors ask
Can I bill all my customers in one message?
The chat drafts one invoice at a time, and each one waits for your approval. For a real batch, use Money's Ready to bill and Send all, which invoices every finished job at once.
Some customers prepay the season. Can I handle that?
Yes. Send one invoice for the season and their visits stay on the calendar as usual. Redline won't split it into installments for you, so bill each installment as its own invoice if you offer that.
Does Redline take a cut?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its normal processing fee and Redline adds nothing on top.
