Redline
Electrical

Electrical software that counts the devices for you.

Walk the house, read off the openings, and Redline turns 14 recessed cans, 6 GFCIs and a 200 amp service change into a quote. Then it keeps the permit, the utility pull and the final payment from slipping.

A panel upgrade quoted from the driveway

Quote Whitfield, photo of the panel attached. 100 to 200 amp service change, 2 new 20A circuits for the garage, permit, utility coordination. 40% deposit.
Redline

Drafted for Ray Whitfield: 200A main panel, breakers, 2 garage circuits with wire, permit and inspection, utility meter pull, labor. $5,860 with a $2,344 deposit. Review it?

Looks right. He asked about an EV charger too, draft a second version with a Level 2.
Redline

Second quote drafted: everything above plus a 48A EV charger on its own circuit, $7,240. Approve both and they save to his file as drafts.

Quotes are drafts you check. Redline reads the photo you send, it doesn't do load calculations.

Made for how electrical work is priced and run

Per-device quoting

Read off the count ("14 recessed, 6 GFCI, 3 dimmers, 2 ceiling fans") and Redline prices each opening from rates it remembers. See electrical estimating.

Deposits on the big tickets

Panel upgrades, generators and EV chargers get a deposit percentage on the quote. Bill it when they say yes so the panel and the charger are paid for before you order. Invoicing is on Solo and up.

Utility disconnect days

Book the service change for the exact time the utility gives you, then put your electrician and apprentice on it from the board on Team and up. If the utility moves it, one message moves the job.

Inspection before final payment

Keep the job In Progress until the inspector signs off. A date reminder ("remind me Thursday to check the Whitfield inspection") lands in your morning push on the iPhone app so the final invoice goes out the day it passes.

Small jobs actually invoiced

A fan swap or a dead outlet is easy to forget. Home shows every job that's done but not invoiced, and "invoice Patel for the fan swap, $185" is all it takes.

Panel photos on file

Before and after shots of the panel go on the job, so the next call to that house starts with a picture of what's in the wall. See Quick-Sort.

What an electrician's week looks like

Electrical work splits two ways. Service calls (tripping breakers, dead outlets, a fixture that flickers) are small and fast, and the danger is that they never get billed. Projects (panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, rewires) are bigger, need a permit and an inspection, and often hang on a utility disconnect that somebody else schedules.

Redline keeps both on one calendar. The service calls get slotted by town, the projects carry their deposit, checklist and inspection reminder, and the job pipeline shows which generator and EV charger quotes have been sitting in Quoted for two weeks.

When the inspection passes, say so in the chat. Redline moves the job along and drafts the final invoice. It doesn't subtract the deposit on its own, so tell it the balance.

Redline on electrical jobs, plainly

Redline does

  • Quote per device, per circuit or per project (options in the quote composer, Solo and up)
  • Bill deposits and finals with card pay links (Solo and up)
  • Put electricians and apprentices on a dispatch board (Team and up)
  • Remind you about inspections and quotes still out
  • Keep panel photos and notes with the job

Redline doesn't

  • Run load calculations or size services
  • Pull permits or book inspections with the town
  • Schedule the utility disconnect for you
  • Track material or wire inventory
  • Text the customer when the utility date changes (calling is one tap)

Questions contractors ask

Can I price by the opening?

Yes. Tell Redline your per-device rates once ("recessed can installed is $165, GFCI is $95") and it uses them every time you read off a count.

Can it hold the final invoice until inspection?

It doesn't hold anything on its own, but the job stays In Progress until you move it, and a date reminder brings the inspection back up in your morning push on the iPhone app.

Does my apprentice see the job price?

No. On Team and up, techs see their day, the checklist and your notes. Job values, quotes and invoices stay with the owner and office.
