Redline
Plumbing

Plumbing software for days that don't go to plan.

You had four drain calls and a faucet install booked. Then a pipe bursts in Quincy. Redline reshuffles the day when you tell it to, builds the water heater quote while the customer is standing there and turns the finished job into an invoice.

A burst pipe at 9:40

Burst pipe at the Haddad house, 22 Newbury Ave, Quincy. Water's off at the main. Who's in Quincy today?
Redline

Dev is on the Sorensen drain call on Hancock St in Quincy, booked until 10:30. Nobody else is in Quincy today.

Confirm the new Haddad burst-pipe job below. Then put it on Dev next and push his 11:00 Braintree faucet install?

Do it. Push the faucet to 1:30.
Redline

Haddad is on Dev's phone as his next stop. The Lyle faucet install in Braintree moved to 1:30. Want an email drafted to Mrs. Lyle about the new time?

Assigning jobs to plumbers is on the Team plan and up. Redline knows where jobs are, not where trucks are.

How Redline fits plumbing work

Emergencies without the chaos

Ask who's working in a town, move a job to another plumber, push the next appointment. The board, the calendar and the plumber's phone all update together. See plumbing dispatch.

Water heater options on the spot

Send a photo of the data plate and say "50-gallon gas, expansion tank, haul away". Redline drafts a quote for each (a 40-gallon, a 50-gallon and a tankless) so the customer picks while you're still in the basement. One quote with good, better and best options is in the quote composer (Solo and up).

Paid before the truck backs out

Tell Redline the diagnostic, the parts and the labor and it drafts one invoice for the total. Copy the card pay link to the customer, or paste it into an email from your Gmail. Invoicing is on Solo and up. See invoicing.

Supply house receipts on the job

File the receipt from the supply house against the job: vendor, amount, optional photo. Reports then show profit per job after materials. On Solo and up.

Permit and inspection steps

Add "permit pulled", "rough-in inspection" and "final" to the job notes so the repipe doesn't get billed before the inspector signs off.

Big quotes that need a nudge

Repipes and sewer line replacements are the quotes that go quiet. Home lists quotes gone quiet, and Redline drafts the follow-up from your own Gmail.

The plumbing week as it really runs

Plumbing is mostly reactive. Clogs, leaks and dead water heaters don't book a week out, and winter adds frozen and burst pipes on top of the regular schedule. The real cost isn't the emergency itself. It's the three appointments behind it that slide, the customer who never got a call about the new time, and the invoice that didn't get written because you went straight to the next house.

Redline is built for that kind of day. You tell it what changed and it moves the calendar, the board and the plumber's phone with it. The scheduling assistant groups visits by town, so a new call in Weymouth lands next to the other Weymouth stop instead of across the county.

At the end of the day, Home shows any job that's done but not invoiced. That's where the small ones turn up (a wax ring, a shutoff valve) that would have slipped.

What to expect as a plumber

Redline does

  • Reshuffle the day by chat when an emergency comes in
  • Quote water heaters and repipes from a photo (options in the quote composer, Solo and up)
  • Dispatch plumbers and apprentices on a board (Team and up)
  • Invoice from the job with card pay links (Solo and up)
  • Remember your service call fee and common prices

Redline doesn't

  • Keep a flat-rate price book or import one
  • Store sewer camera video (photos only)
  • Show truck locations (no GPS, techs tap their status)
  • File permits or backflow test reports
  • Text customers an arrival time (calling is one tap)

Questions contractors ask

I price flat rate. Does Redline have a price book?

No. Redline remembers prices you mention ("first drain is $225, each extra drain $95") and uses them on quotes and invoices, but there's no price book to import or browse.

Can my apprentice use the app?

Yes, on Team and up. An apprentice gets the tech app with their day, job checklists, notes and crew chat, and uses one seat. Team includes 3 seats counting you.

How do I charge an after-hours fee?

Say it in the message: "invoice Haddad, emergency call after hours, $175 surcharge". Mention your surcharge once and Redline remembers it.

Does it work for a one-truck shop?

Yes. Free covers the chat, contacts, pipeline, calendar and quotes. Solo at $29 a month adds invoices and card payments, with a 7-day free trial on the web.
