Redline
Small business FSM

Field service software for a 1 to 10 person shop.

The big field service platforms are built for call centers, fleets and membership programs. A small business needs the same core loop (lead, schedule, do the work, invoice, get paid) without the sales demo, the implementation project and the per-technician quote.

If you've sat through the enterprise demo

You booked the demo because the website looked right. Then came the discovery call, the custom quote, the onboarding plan and a screen with forty settings you'll never touch. It's real software built for real companies, just not a company with one office person, or none.

Field service software for small business should start working the day you sign up, cost a number you can see on the website, and grow by a plan step when you hire, not by a renegotiation. That's the shape Redline is built in: chat-first field service software with flat prices and seats included.

The whole loop, in one app

  1. Lead in

Tell the chat who called, or let a request come in from your free Pro Page. It lands in Contacts tagged lead. (Free)

  2. Quote

Build an itemized quote by chat, even from a site photo, with a deposit %. It saves as a draft you email from your own Gmail. (Free)

  3. Schedule

Ask for a time and get up to 3 open slots, grouped with visits in the same town. Optimize proposes moves to tighten the next 7 days. (Free)

  4. Dispatch

Drag jobs onto techs on the Today board; their phone updates at once. Techs tap Idle, En route or On job. (Team and Team+)

  5. Invoice and get paid

Turn a finished job into an invoice in two taps. Customers pay by card on a pay link, on your own Stripe account. (Solo and up)

  6. Chase

Unpaid invoices get flagged at day 3, 7 and 14 and you're told who to call. (Solo and up)

How the larger platforms list their pricing

From each vendor's own website, checked 2026-10-06. Prices change, so confirm on their site.

SoftwareWhat its pricing page shows
ServiceTitanNo published prices. Pricing is per technician and quoted by sales; its terms refer to a minimum subscription level, and onboarding runs through implementation stages.
FieldEdgeNo published prices. Three plans, priced through a demo by team size and add-ons.
SimproNo published prices. Tailored quotes, and the vendor states an initial setup fee for onboarding, training and data migration.
Service FusionStarter listed at $208 a month billed annually, or $245 month to month, with unlimited users.
Housecall ProBasic listed at $59 a month billed annually for 1 user, $79 billed monthly. Essentials at $149 billed annually includes 5 users.

What the big platforms have that Redline doesn't

If any of these are must-haves, a larger platform will fit better. Be honest with yourself about which ones you'd use.

Not in Redline

  • A price book, flat-rate catalog, inventory or purchase orders
  • Maps, drive times or route optimization (visits are grouped by town name)
  • GPS or geofencing (tech status is tapped by the tech)
  • Payroll, timesheets or clock-in
  • A customer portal or online booking
  • QuickBooks or Xero sync (there's a CSV export)
  • Membership or service agreement billing

What you get instead

  • A chat that runs the whole loop from one message
  • Prices on the website and no sales call
  • A Free plan with no end date to try it on real jobs
  • Seats included in the plan price
  • Techs who never see job values or invoices
  • No Redline fee on top of Stripe's card processing

Questions contractors ask

Is Redline really field service software, or just a chat app?

It's field service software you run by chat. Behind the chat are the views you'd expect: a dashboard, a job pipeline, contacts, a calendar, a Money tab and, on Team and Team+, a crew dispatch board with a tech app.

We're 12 people. Does it still fit?

Team+ includes 10 seats and you can add extra seats at $29 a month each, up to 100 in total. At that size, look hard at the list above: bigger crews often need GPS, timesheets or a price book, and Redline has none of those.

How long does setup take?

There's no implementation project. Sign-up asks three questions (your trade, crew size and monthly goal) and then you start adding this week's jobs by chat. There's no import, so you don't migrate old data; you start fresh.

Can I see it before paying?

Yes. The Free plan has no end date, and Solo has a 7-day free trial when you start on the web (14 days on yearly).
