Redline
iPhone

A contractor app for iPhone that works from the cab.

If the laptop comes out once a week and the iPhone does everything else, your software should be built for the phone first. Redline for Contractors is on the App Store, and it's the same account as the web app, so nothing lives in two places.

The day, as the phone sees it

At 7am the phone buzzes once with the one thing to do first: call back the lead from yesterday, or the invoice that just hit day 7. You're on the driveway by 8 with the camera out. At lunch, in the cab, you sort the photos and notes you grabbed all morning. At 3 the phone buzzes again because a customer paid the pay link while you were on the roof.

That's the day Redline's iPhone app is built around: short bursts between jobs, one hand, bad signal sometimes. You message it the way you'd message an office manager, and the alerts come to you instead of you going looking.

Quoting from the driveway

[3 photos] Deck at the Novak place. 12 by 16, boards are shot, joists look fine. Quote a resurface in composite.

Draft quote for Erin Novak, 192 sq ft deck resurface:

Tear-off and disposal of the old boards: $960

Composite decking and hidden fasteners, installed: $6,490

Total $7,450. Save it as a draft?

Save it. Remind me Friday to follow up with her.
Redline

Saved. Friday's morning push will include "Follow up with Erin Novak about the deck quote."

Quotes save as drafts; you email the customer from your own Gmail. Reminders arrive in the iPhone app's morning push.

What the iPhone app adds to your day

One push, one priority

A morning push with the single most important thing, at the hour you pick between 5 and 11am (8am by default). See morning brief.

Payment received

On Solo and up, the app tells you the moment a customer pays a pay link by card.

Who to call about money

With chasing on (Solo and up), unpaid invoices get flagged at day 3, 7 and 14 and the app pushes you who to call. Nothing goes to the customer on its own.

Camera straight into the chat

Shoot the job and attach up to 6 photos to one message. The chat reads them to build the quote or note the damage.

Quick-Sort gets its own tab

Grab a photo, a note, a price or a date in seconds and file it later. On the phone, Quick-Sort sits in its own tab.

One-tap calling

The Call button opens your iPhone's dialer. Log the call afterwards with one message.

Straight answers for iPhone owners

The iPhone app does

  • Run the same account and screens as the web app
  • Push the morning priority, payments and overdue alerts
  • Take photos straight into quotes and notes
  • Sign in with Apple, Google or email
  • Run the tech app for your crew on Team and up

The iPhone app doesn't

  • Have an Android version (other phones use the browser, without push)
  • Work offline; only a logged call or note waits for signal
  • Track your location or your crew's
  • Send pushes to the web app; alerts need the iPhone app
  • Change seats; that's on the web

Questions contractors ask

Is the iPhone app free?

Yes. The app is free to download and the Free plan works in it with no card: chat, contacts, pipeline, calendar and your Pro Page. Invoicing starts on Solo at $29 a month. See pricing.

What if I lose signal on a job?

A call or note you log with no signal waits on the phone and saves when you're back online. Everything else needs a connection; there's no general offline mode.

My guys have Android phones. Can they use it?

They can use Redline in their phone's browser. There's no Android app, so they won't get push notifications.

Can I start on the iPhone and use the computer later?

Yes. It's one account. Anything you add on the phone is on the web the next time you open it, and the other way around.

How is this different from the iPhone app feature page?

This page is about running a day from the phone. The iPhone app page lists every feature in the app.
