Redline
Morning brief and reminders

One push before coffee. The one thing that matters.

Every morning, the Redline iPhone app sends a single push with the most important thing on your plate: a reminder you set, the day's first visit, a follow-up, money owed. One thing, not a digest you'll swipe away. Reminders you set by chat ride along in the same push on the day you picked.

Setting reminders in passing

Remind me Thursday to call the supply house about the shingle backorder.
Redline

Set for Thursday. It'll be in that morning's push.

And set a callback with Reilly tomorrow at 2pm.
Redline

Added a 2:00 callback with Reilly to tomorrow's calendar.

Reminders are by the day. Anything with a clock time goes on the calendar as an event.

Getting the brief

  1. Install the iPhone app

The brief is a push notification, so it needs the Redline for Contractors app with notifications allowed. See the iPhone app.

  2. Pick your hour

Choose any hour from 5 to 11am, local time. It starts at 8am until you change it.

  3. Read one line, start the day

Each morning you get the single top priority. Tap it to open Redline and deal with it.

What it can lead with

Redline checks these in order and sends the first one that matters today. The examples show the kind of thing each covers.

CategoryFor example
RemindersThe supply house call you set for Thursday
ScheduleYour first visit of the day and where it is
Follow-upsA lead waiting on a call back
MoneyAn invoice past due and who to call (Solo and up)
SetupA step you haven't finished, like adding your first customer

Reminders, and the other alerts on your phone

Date reminders by chat

"Remind me the 14th to order the trusses." Up to a year out, up to 280 characters. They show up in that day's morning push.

Payment received

A push the moment a customer pays an invoice on its pay link. Needs Solo or higher.

Overdue chasing

Pushes at day 3, 7 and 14 on unpaid invoices, telling you who to call. See overdue alerts.

Quote requests

A push when someone fills out the form on your Pro Page, and a nudge in the next morning brief.

Community and support

Replies and answers in the community, follows and connections, and replies from Redline to your feedback.

Your switches

Turn each type on or off in Settings, under Notifications. Chasing alerts follow the Chasing switch in Money.

Straight answers before you switch

Redline does

  • Send one morning push with your top priority
  • Let you pick the hour, 5 to 11am
  • Take date reminders by chat, up to a year out
  • Push payments, overdue invoices and new quote requests

Redline doesn't

  • Email the brief or send it to a web browser
  • Send push notifications on Android
  • Remind your customers of anything
  • Ping you at a clock time (reminders ride the morning push, and calendar events don't send pushes)

Questions contractors ask

Do I need the iPhone app?

Yes. The morning brief, reminders and every alert on this page are push notifications sent only to the iPhone app. On the web you still have the calendar, the pipeline and Home, but nothing gets pushed to you.

Why only one thing?

Because a list of twelve things gets swiped away. The brief picks the one that matters most today. Ask the chat "what's on today?" for the full picture.

Which plan includes it?

Every plan, Free included. Payment and overdue alerts come with invoicing on Solo and up. See pricing.

Can I set a reminder for 3pm?

Reminders are by the day and land in the morning push. For a set time, ask Redline to put a callback or visit on the calendar instead. Calendar events don't send a push of their own, but the day's schedule can lead the morning brief.
