Redline
Tree service estimates

Every tree on its own line, every stump spelled out.

You walked the property and looked at five trees. Two come down, one gets a crown reduction, one stump gets ground and one stays. Redline writes it exactly that way, from your photos and notes, so nobody thinks the second stump was included.

From the property walk to the crew day

  1. Walk it with your phone out

Photograph each tree from the ground and note species, rough height, what it's leaning over and how the truck gets in.

  2. Send the photos and notes

Up to 6 photos in one message, with a note for each tree. Redline builds a line per tree with your price, plus stumps, haul-away and any equipment.

  3. Spell out what's in and what's out

Wood left on site or hauled. Stumps ground or left. Grindings removed or left in the hole. Each one a line or a note, so the quote answers the questions before they're asked.

  4. Save, send, deposit on the big ones

The quote saves on the customer's file. On crane jobs, put a deposit percentage on it and invoice it when they say yes (Solo and up).

  5. Book the crew and the equipment

Ask for a day and Redline suggests slots near your other jobs in that town. Put the crane rental on the calendar for the same day.

Five trees, one walk

Quote the Hendersons from these photos. Tree 1: 60 ft red oak over the garage, remove, needs the crane. Tree 2: dead ash by the fence, remove. Tree 3: maple, crown reduction 20%. Grind both stumps from 1 and 2. Haul everything. 30% deposit.
Redline

Draft for Ruth Henderson:

Tree 1, red oak over garage, crane removal, $4,800

Tree 2, dead ash at fence line, removal, $1,450

Tree 3, maple, 20% crown reduction, $650

Stump grinding, 2 stumps (approx. 30" and 18"), $480

Debris and log haul-away, $600

Total $7,980, 30% deposit. Save it?

Add a line saying the birch out front is not included, then save.
Redline

Added "Front-yard birch: not included" at $0. Approve it and it saves to the Henderson file.

Quotes by chat work on every plan. Example prices only.

The "I thought that was included" call

Tree work disputes almost never start with the tree. They start with the stump nobody mentioned, the logs the customer expected to keep, or the ruts in the lawn from the bucket truck. A quote with one total and "remove trees" on it invites all three.

Writing each tree and each extra as its own line takes longer by hand, which is why it doesn't happen. By chat it takes the same message you'd have sent your foreman anyway.

Straight answers on tree estimates

Redline does

  • Quote from walk photos and per-tree notes
  • Itemize each tree, stump and haul-away
  • Add a deposit on crane and big removal jobs
  • Remember your per-inch stump price and minimums
  • Book the crew day near other jobs in that town

Redline doesn't

  • Map or inventory trees on a property
  • Track tree removal permits
  • Book crane rentals with the rental company
  • Let the customer accept the estimate online
  • Text the estimate (email it from your Gmail)

Questions contractors ask

Can Redline estimate a tree's height from a photo?

Don't rely on it for that. It reads photos for what's there, but height, lean and hazard are your call. Put them in the note and it prices from what you tell it.

What about storm calls?

Log each one by chat as it comes in so nobody gets lost, then ask "which storm calls haven't been quoted?" when you catch your breath.

Can I collect payment before the crew leaves?

Yes, on Solo and up. Invoice the job from your phone and the customer pays by card on the pay link.
