The pump's screaming. Repair it or replace it?

You hear the bearings on a weekly visit and the customer asks what it'll cost. Snap the motor label, tell Redline what you'd do, and you have the motor swap next to a new variable-speed pump before you've finished the chemicals.

Quoting from the equipment pad

  1. Photo the label

Motor, pump, heater or filter: the label tells Redline the model and horsepower. Up to 6 photos per message. Attach the label shot to the job too so it's on file.

  2. Say the fix and the upgrade

"Option 1 replace the motor. Option 2 new variable-speed pump." Two or three options side by side, each with its own total.

  3. Parts and labor apart

Parts at your price, labor at your rate, plumbing fittings and disposal of the old unit as their own lines.

  4. Deposit before you order

Equipment is ordered for that pool. Put a deposit percentage on the quote and invoice it when they say yes. Deposits are on Solo and up.

  5. Book the swap on their route day

Once they agree, put the install on the same day as their weekly service, or on the day you're already in that town.

Repairs are where a route makes money

Weekly service keeps the lights on. Repairs are the margin, and the route is where they come from: you're at the pad every week, you hear the pump, you see the leaking valve. The question is whether you quote it on the spot or promise to "send something over" and forget.

A quote from the pad, with the label photo and two options, gets a yes more often than a call three days later. Redline keeps it on the customer's file, and if they're still thinking, the pipeline shows how long it's been sitting.

Straight answers on pool repair quotes

Redline does

  • Read equipment labels from the photos you send
  • Put repair and replacement options side by side
  • Keep parts, labor and disposal on separate lines
  • Add a deposit before you order equipment
  • Draft the options email from your Gmail

Redline doesn't

  • Look up live distributor prices (unless you ask it to search)
  • Track equipment warranties or serial numbers
  • Size pumps or heaters for the pool
  • Let the customer accept the quote online
  • Text the quote to the customer

Questions contractors ask

Can Redline look up what a part costs?

If you ask, it can search the web in the chat, which uses some of your AI credits. Most pool pros just say their price, and Redline remembers it.

How does the customer approve?

They tell you, on the deck or by replying to your email. Online approval isn't available right now. Move the job to Accepted and invoice the deposit (Solo and up).

How do I price a green-to-clean?

By condition: light, medium or swamp, with the extra visits and chemicals as lines. Snap the pool before you start so the condition is on file if they say it wasn't that bad.
