Redline
Landscaping dispatch

The stone's late. The crew isn't.

Your install crew was set for the Hollis patio Tuesday, and the supplier just pushed the stone to Thursday. Redline moves them to the planting job that's ready, puts Hollis on Thursday and updates the crew lead's phone before the truck is loaded.

Running two kinds of crew

  1. Crew leads get the app

Each person in the app uses a seat, so a lot of companies give it to the crew leads. The lead sees the day's properties, the notes and the checklist.

  2. Pair the truck

Group a lead and a laborer into one truck for the day, or every week on that day for a standing maintenance pair. They show as one crew on the board.

  3. Installs carry their notes

Locate marked, stone delivered, grade stakes set, irrigation flagged. Put it in the job notes and the lead checks it on site from the app.

  4. Swap days when deliveries slip

Tell Redline what's not ready and what is. It moves the jobs and reassigns the crew in one message.

  5. Finished jobs go to billing

When the lead marks a job done it lands in Ready to bill, so the install balance goes out that day. Invoicing is part of Team.

Tuesday, 6:15am

Stone for the Hollis patio won't land till Thursday. Put Luis's install crew on the Brandt planting today instead, and move Hollis to Thursday.
Redline

Luis's crew now has Brandt, 14 shrubs and bed prep in Needham, at 7:30. Hollis patio moved to Thursday 7:30, still on Luis.

Thursday Luis also had the Okafor edging job in Wellesley. Keep both?

Give Okafor to Andre's crew after their mowing.
Redline

Okafor edging is on Andre's crew Thursday at 2:00, after their Wellesley maintenance stops. Both phones are updated.

The crew board, tech app and assigning by chat are on Team ($129 a month) and Team+.

What the board does for a landscape company

Unassigned row

Sold installs that aren't on a crew yet sit in their own row, so nothing that's been paid for gets forgotten in the spring rush.

Notes for the property

Gate code, where the irrigation heads are, "don't park on the lawn", which beds are the neighbor's. Office notes ride with the job.

Status by tap

Crews tap En route, On job and done. No GPS, by design, so you know which crew can take the extra cleanup without calling around.

Nursery and yard receipts

When a lead picks up extra mulch or plants, they snap the receipt in the app and it's filed against the job.

Two clocks on one board

Maintenance runs on a weekly loop. When it rains, the loop slides a day and catches up. Installs run on deliveries, dry ground and the customer's deposit, and one late truck of stone can leave a crew with nothing to do at 7am.

The fix is having the next ready job in mind and moving fast. Redline shows every crew's day and the unassigned work in one place, and a message moves both the job and the crew. The planting that was ready all along gets done Tuesday, and the patio waits for its stone.

Straight answers on landscape dispatch

Redline does

  • Show every crew's day and the unassigned work

  • Group a lead and laborer into one truck
  • Keep prices off the crew's phones

  • Plan routes by drive time (it groups by town)
  • Track crew hours or payroll
  • Track equipment like skid steers as resources

Questions contractors ask

How many crews can I run?

Team includes 3 seats for $129 a month, counting you. Team+ includes 10 seats for $299, with extra seats at $29 each. Only the people using the app need a seat.

Can my crew see what the job is worth?

No. Crew members see their jobs, notes and checklists. Quotes, invoices and job values stay with the owner and office.

How do I book a rented machine?

Book it as its own calendar event on the day, next to the job that needs it. Redline doesn't track equipment as a resource.
