Redline
Fence estimates

Walk the line, quote three fences.

180 feet along the back and side, a 4-foot walk gate, a 10-foot drive gate, and the old chain link has to go. Redline turns your footage into wood, vinyl and aluminum options, each with the deposit to order material.

From the measuring wheel to the install date

  1. Walk the line

Footage by run, corners and ends, gate widths, grade changes, and what's coming out. Note where the property pins are, or that the customer needs to find them.

  2. Message the footage and options

"180 ft, 6 ft privacy. Options: pressure-treated, vinyl, black aluminum. One 4 ft walk gate, one 10 ft double drive gate. Remove 180 ft of chain link."

  3. Check the lines

Fence by the foot, posts each, gates each, tear-out by the foot, permit as its own line. The chat drafts good, better and best as three quotes, each with a deposit. On Solo, the quote composer can hold all three on one quote with tax.

  4. Save and send

The quote saves on the customer's file; move the job to Quoted. Redline drafts the email from your Gmail.

  5. Deposit, locate, permit, then a date

Move it to Accepted and invoice the deposit (Solo and up). Set reminders for the utility locate and the permit, and book the install once both are in.

The "when can you start?" problem

In spring, a fence company's backlog can run weeks out, and every customer with a signed quote calls to ask where they are. The deposit is the line between a maybe and a spot on the schedule, and the locate and the permit are what actually set the date.

Redline keeps each signed job in Accepted with its notes, so when the customer calls you can see in one place whether the deposit is in, when you asked for the locate and when the permit came back. Tell them a real date once you have one.

Questions contractors ask

Can I quote from a sketch the customer sends?

Yes. Attach the sketch or photos and tell Redline the footage. It reads images, but check any footage it pulls from a sketch against your own measurement.

Will Redline chase the deposit?

It alerts you, not the customer. Bill the deposit as an invoice and the overdue alerts at day 3, 7 and 14 tell you to call. Check Money before you order material either way.

Can I quote a repair instead of a new fence?

Yes. Three posts and a section of panels is a quote like any other: posts each, panels by the foot, your minimum charge if the job is small. Quoting is free; invoicing starts on Solo at $29 a month.
