Redline
Cleaning invoicing

Per clean, per month, or per turnover.

Your weekly clients want a bill after each clean, the busy family wants one a month, and the rental host with three properties wants every turnover listed by date. Redline drafts each one from a message: one total, with the dates and any lockout fee written into the line.

Billing a cleaning client list

  1. Pick each client's rhythm

After each clean or once a month. Note it on their file ("bills monthly") and Redline uses it when you ask for the month's invoices.

  2. Per-clean clients: invoice the day of

"Invoice the Patels for today's biweekly clean." Your rate is remembered. Approve it and the pay link is ready to send.

  3. Monthly clients: list the dates

One invoice for the month's total, with each clean's date and any add-ons (inside the oven, a deep clean before the holidays) written into its description.

  4. Rental hosts: list by property

Hosts with several units want each turnover by address and date. One invoice for the month, every turnover written into its description, linens or restocking in the total.

  5. Fees, written down

Lockouts and late cancellations get billed at the fee you've told Redline, named with the date, so the client sees why they're paying.

Three ways cleaning clients get billed

ClientInvoiceWhat the invoice line says
Weekly or biweekly homeAfter each cleanThe clean, any add-ons, any fee
Monthly billing homeEnd of monthEach clean by date, add-ons and fees
Rental hostEnd of monthEach turnover by property and date, linens or restocking
Move-out or one-time deep cleanSame dayThe quoted clean plus anything added on site

Fees only work if they're on the invoice

Every cleaning company has a lockout and late-cancel policy, and plenty never charge it because it's awkward. When the fee is on an invoice, with the date and the reason, it stops being a confrontation and starts being the policy. If you let one go, mention it in the next invoice's line ("lockout Oct 27, waived") so they know.

Redline doesn't charge cards on file or run autopay, so each invoice is one you approve and the client pays on the link. For a weekly client, that's one short message after the clean. For a host, it's one message at month end with the turnover dates.

Questions contractors ask

Do my cleaners see what clients pay?

No. On Team and up, cleaners see their homes, checklists and notes. Invoices and prices stay with the owner and office.

Can I invoice a batch of finished cleans at once?

Yes. Finished jobs wait in Money under Ready to bill, and Send all invoices them together.

How do I bill a client who skipped?

If they skipped with notice, there's nothing to bill. A late cancel gets your fee on their next invoice, with the date written in.
