Redline
Mobile detailing scheduling

A 90-minute wash and a two-day coating on the same calendar.

A detailing week is a mix of lengths: quick maintenance washes, half-day details and coating jobs that eat a whole day. Then it rains. Redline finds slots that fit each kind, repeats the regulars, and moves the outdoor jobs when the forecast turns.

Building a detailing week

  1. Set the length for each kind of job

In the calendar's Add event, set the visit length (90 minutes, 2 hours, half day) and Redline offers the 3 best open slots, best one picked.

  2. Repeat the maintenance customers

Set a wash to repeat every 2, 3 or 4 weeks and save it as a preset like "3-week wash, 90 min". One save books up to 52 visits.

  3. Block the coating days

Paint correction and ceramic get an early start with the rest of the day kept clear, plus the next morning if your coating needs a second day. Each day is its own visit so one can move without the other.

  4. Book Saturdays yourself

Suggested times assume weekdays, 8 to 5. Saturday is your busiest day, so give Redline the time and it books it.

  5. Move the rain days

If you work outside, one message moves a wet day's washes to the next open day. Garage jobs can stay put.

Rain Thursday

Rain all day Thursday. Move my 3 maintenance washes to Friday at the same times. Keep the Hendricks coating Saturday, I'm in his garage.
Redline

Moved Ruiz 9:00, Chen 11:00 and Patel 1:30 to Friday, same times. Friday was open.

Hendricks ceramic coating stays Saturday at 8:00.

The Ruiz wash repeats every 3 weeks. Only Thursday's visit moved.

Book Jenna Ruiz's sister, Ana, for an interior detail Saturday the 17th at 9.
Redline

Ready to add Ana Ruiz as a contact with an interior detail job. Confirm, and I'll book her Saturday the 17th at 9:00.

Moving bookings happens right away. New contacts and jobs wait for your OK. The chat books one visit at a time; repeats are set on the visit.

Detailing jobs and how they sit on the calendar

JobTypical lengthHow it's booked
Maintenance wash60 to 90 minRepeating series, every 2 to 4 weeks
Full detail3 to 5 hoursSingle visit, often grouped with others in that town
Paint correction1 to 2 daysOne visit per day so either can move
Ceramic coatingFull day, plus cure timeMorning start, day kept clear, deposit to hold it
Fleet or dealer lotHalf dayWeekly series on the same weekday

Lengths are examples. A visit is saved as a start time; the length you pick (up to a half day) is what Redline uses to find open slots, and a preset can carry it.

The empty Tuesday problem

Most mobile detailers have a packed Saturday and a thin Tuesday. The fix is moving maintenance customers onto weekdays when they start, before the habit sets. A customer on a 3-week series booked for Tuesdays fills Tuesdays for the year.

The scheduling assistant helps with the rest. It favors days you're already in the same town, so a new wash in Somerville lands next to the Somerville car you already have. It goes by the town on the address, not by drive time, so check it if your towns are big.

Straight answers on detailing schedules

Redline does

  • Find open slots that fit a wash, a detail or a coating day
  • Repeat maintenance washes every 2, 3 or 4 weeks
  • Move a rainy day's jobs in one message
  • Group cars in the same town on the same day
  • Keep each customer's vehicles and notes on file

Redline doesn't

  • Let customers book themselves online
  • Sync with Google, Apple or Outlook calendars
  • Watch the weather and move jobs on its own
  • Send appointment reminders to customers
  • Suggest Saturday times (you set those)

Questions contractors ask

Can I hold a coating day with a deposit?

Yes. Put a deposit percentage on the coating quote and invoice the deposit when they book. Deposits and invoices are on Solo at $29 a month.

A customer wants to skip one wash. Do I rebuild the series?

No. Delete or move that one visit and the rest of the series stays where it was.

Is scheduling free?

Yes. The calendar, repeating visits, presets and scheduling by chat are all on the Free plan.
