Fence change order for when the auger hits rock.

Post 14 stops at eight inches. So does 15, 16 and 17. Now it's core drilling and pinned posts, and while you're explaining that, the owner asks for a gate on the side yard. One form covers both, plus where the line runs.

What this template covers

  • Rock work per post, numbered so the owner can walk the line and see which ones
  • A gate with its own posts and hardware, since a gate is never just the panel
  • Removal credited by the linear foot, the same unit the fence was quoted in
  • Where the line came from (survey pins or a plot plan), on paper
  • The utility locate ticket for any new holes

Doing it in Redline

When the auger stalls, send the chat a photo and "Whitaker change order: core drill 4 posts at $145, add a 4 ft walk gate $480 with 2 posts at $95." It builds the added work as a quote on her file. Note the credit on this form, and have the chat draft an email that explains the rock in plain words, sent from your Gmail when you approve it.

The rock costs you twice: the drill rental and the extra hours. On Solo ($29 a month), snap the rental receipt as an expense on the Whitaker job, and Reports shows what the fence made after materials and rentals. Redline doesn't track labor hours, so count those yourself. The fence estimate app page covers how to quote the next one with a rock clause up front.

Price the rock while you're standing on it.

Redline is free to start. Photo, one line, and the change is on her file.
