Redline
Plumbing dispatch

When the burst pipe calls, the day moves.

Your schedule was fine until a sewer backup and a burst supply line came in ten minutes apart. Redline lets you move the planned work and send the right plumber in one message, then shows you who you still owe a phone call.

Reshuffling a plumbing day

  1. Log the emergency

Name, address, what's leaking and where the shutoff is, typed while you're on the phone. Confirm it and it's a job.

  2. Say what moves and who goes

"Move Jake's 1pm faucet install to tomorrow at 8 and send him to the burst pipe on Elm." Redline moves the visit, assigns the emergency and puts it on Jake's phone.

  3. Tell the customer you bumped

Redline doesn't text. Calling is one tap from the contact, or have Redline draft a short email about the new time, sent from your Gmail.

  4. The plumber works the job

Office notes and the checklist are on the job in the tech app. Jake taps On job, then marks it done. He never sees what it's billed at.

  5. Bill it

The finished job waits in Money under Ready to bill. Invoice it, after-hours charge included in the amount, with a card pay link (Solo and up).

10:40 on a Tuesday

Burst supply line under the kitchen sink, Joan Ferris, 88 Elm St, Woburn. Main's off. Send Jake now and move his 1pm faucet install at the Adlers to tomorrow 8am.
Redline

Joan Ferris and the burst-pipe job are ready to confirm. Once they're in, Jake goes on it. Adler faucet install moved to Wednesday 8:00.

Jake still has the 3:30 water heater flush in Burlington. Keep it?

Confirmed. Give the flush to Tony. And draft a note to the Adlers about tomorrow.
Redline

Jake's on the Ferris job, it's on his phone. Flush is on Tony at 3:30. The Adler email is drafted for you to check, from your Gmail.

Assigning jobs to plumbers is on Team ($129 a month) and Team+. Rescheduling by chat works on every plan.

What a plumbing crew gets

A board that shows the blowup

One row per plumber with their status and jobs, plus an Unassigned row. Drag a job to a new row and their phone updates.

Plumber and apprentice, one van

Group two people for the day so a repipe or a water heater swap shows as one crew on one route.

Notes that save a trip

Shutoff location, crawlspace access, "use the side door" go in the office notes the plumber reads in the app.

Status without a phone call

Plumbers tap Idle, En route or On job, so you can see who's free for the next call without calling around.

The part nobody writes down

Moving a job is easy. Remembering to tell the customer you moved is where plumbing shops lose goodwill. When you push a planned install in Redline, ask the chat to draft the note in the same message, and the email lands on the customer's file (log the call if you phoned instead), so whoever answers the next call knows they were told.

If you're a one-truck shop, you don't need the board for this. Rescheduling by chat works on Free, so you can move the afternoon around the emergency without opening a calendar.

Straight answers on plumbing dispatch

Redline does

  • Move booked visits and assign emergencies in one message
  • Put new jobs on the plumber's phone right away
  • Show tapped status for every truck on the board
  • Draft the "we have to move you" email from your Gmail
  • Invoice from the finished job (Solo and up)

Redline doesn't

  • Text customers about a schedule change
  • Track vans by GPS
  • Run an on-call rotation or answer after-hours calls
  • Keep a flat-rate price book
  • Track permits and inspections as their own records

Questions contractors ask

Can I move a whole afternoon at once?

Name the visits you want moved and where, and Redline moves them. For a bigger reshuffle, Optimize proposes moves over the next 7 days that fix overlaps and group jobs in the same town, and you apply them one by one or all at once.

Does the customer get notified automatically?

No. Nothing goes to a customer on its own. You call (one tap) or approve an email Redline drafted, and it goes from your own Gmail.

How many plumbers does Team cover?

Team is 3 seats including you, at $129 a month. Team+ is 10 seats at $299 a month, with extra seats at $29 each. An apprentice with the app uses a seat too.
