Redline
Roofing dispatch

Don't open a roof you can't close by noon.

Rain at 1pm means the Dwyer tear-off doesn't start at 7. Redline moves the crew to Friday, hands them the two leak repairs instead and reminds you to call about the dumpster, all from one message at 5:30 in the morning.

Running install days in Redline

  1. Put the foreman on the app

Each person in the tech app uses a seat, so most roofers give the app to the crew foreman and the repair tech. The foreman sees the job, the address, your notes and the checklist. Never the price.

  2. Book the roof to a crew

"Put Hector's crew on the Dwyer tear-off Thursday at 7." The job lands on his phone with your notes: dumpster dropped, shingles on site, permit posted, magnet sweep done.

  3. Make the weather call

Ask for the forecast in the chat if you like. If it's wet, one message moves the roof and says where the crew goes instead.

  4. Fill the gaps with repairs

Leak calls and small repairs go to whoever has a half day. Ask who's open and Redline looks at the board and the calendar for you.

  5. Done goes to billing

The foreman marks the job done in the app and it lands in Money under Ready to bill, so the balance goes out the same day. Invoicing is on Solo and up, and it's part of Team.

5:30am, rain after noon

Rain after 12 today. Don't open Dwyer. Move Hector's crew to Friday on it and give him the Russo and Keane leak repairs this morning. Sal keeps the Pham porch roof.
Redline

Dwyer tear-off moved to Friday 7:00, still on Hector's crew. Hector now has Russo at 7:30 and Keane at 9:30, both in Medford, on his phone now. Sal has Pham at 7:00.

The Dwyer notes say the dumpster drops Thursday. Want a reminder to call and move it?

Yes, today.
Redline

Reminder set for today: call about the Dwyer dumpster.

The crew board, tech app and assigning by chat are on Team ($129 a month) and Team+. Redline moves your jobs, it doesn't call the supplier or the dumpster company.

What a roofing crew board does

One row per crew lead

The board shows each foreman and repair tech with their day, plus an Unassigned row for roofs that are sold but not on anyone yet.

Two on a small job

Group a repair tech and a helper into one truck for the day, today only or every week on that day, so a skylight reflash shows as one crew.

The install list in the notes

Dumpster, delivery, permit card, ice and water at the eaves, flashing replaced, magnet sweep go in the job notes the foreman reads. The app's checklist (before photos, the job, after photos) gets ticked off on the phone, and you see progress without calling.

Status by tap

Crews tap En route, On job and done. No GPS, by design, so you know who's free for the next leak call without anyone feeling tracked.

Receipts from the supply yard

When the foreman grabs another bundle of ridge cap, he snaps the receipt in the app and it's filed against the job.

A job thread per roof

Crew chat has a General channel and a thread for each job, so the photo of the rotted decking stays with the Dwyer roof.

A move is more than the crew

When a roof moves, four things move with it: the crew, the dumpster, the material drop and the homeowner who took the day off. Redline handles the first one instantly. The board, the calendar and the foreman's phone all update from the same message.

The other three are phone calls, and they're the ones that get missed at 5:30 in the morning. Put the dumpster company and the supplier in the job notes, let Redline set the reminder, and call the homeowner with one tap from their file. Log the call so the office knows it's been done.

Straight answers on roofing dispatch

Redline does

  • Assign and move roofs to crews by chat or drag
  • Put the job, notes and checklist on the foreman's phone
  • Look up the forecast when you ask
  • Show tapped status for every crew
  • Keep prices off the crew's phones

Redline doesn't

  • Track trucks by GPS
  • Schedule material deliveries or dumpster drops
  • Watch the weather and move jobs on its own
  • Track crew hours or piece rates
  • Text homeowners about a change (calling is one tap)

Questions contractors ask

Do my sub crews need accounts?

No. Each person on the board uses a seat. Most roofers keep a sub crew off the app, book the roof to the sub's name in the notes, and call the sub's foreman with one tap.

How many crews can I run on Team?

Team includes 3 seats with you counted, so you plus two crew leads. Team+ includes 10 seats at $299 a month, with extra seats at $29 each.

Can a roof take two days on the board?

Book each day as its own visit. If day two gets rained out, you move that one visit and day one stays where it was.
