A free contractor CRM that knows what a job is.
General-purpose free CRMs are built for sales teams: deals, companies, email sequences. A contractor's record is a person, a house, a job and a date. Redline keeps those together for free, and you fill it in by telling the chat what happened.
Where leads go missing
A lead comes in as a voicemail while you're on a ladder. Another comes through a Facebook message, another from a neighbor who stopped by the truck. By Friday you've written two of them on the back of a supply receipt and forgotten the third. The quote you sent last week went quiet and you never followed up, because nothing reminded you it existed.
You don't need a sales system with lead scoring. You need one list where every person has a phone number, an address, the job they asked about, where it stands and when you last talked to them. That's what Redline's contacts and pipeline are, and both are on the Free plan.
Keeping the list current without typing forms
Logged the call on Priya Chen. Want a callback on the calendar for Friday the 16th?
Callback set for Friday the 16th at 10am.
Three jobs have sat in Quoted for over a week: Okafor gutter replacement (9 days), Bell downspout reroute (12 days) and Marsh full guard install (16 days). Want me to draft a follow-up email to Marsh first?
Logging and booking apply right away. Follow-up emails are drafts you approve, sent from your own Gmail.
What you're tracking, and where it lives
| What you need to know | Where Redline keeps it |
|---|---|
| Who called and what they want | A contact tagged lead, with the job attached and the call logged |
| Who's a customer, who's gone cold | Tags: lead, customer, cold, and AR-overdue once invoicing is on |
| Where every job stands | The pipeline: Lead, Quoted, Accepted, In Progress, Paid, Lost |
| Which quotes are slipping | Days in stage on each card, amber at 7 and red at 14, plus a Stale 7d+ filter |
| When to call back | A callback on the calendar, or a date reminder in your morning push |
| Gate codes, the dog, the last visit | Notes and photos on the contact's file |
| Requests from your page | Pro Page quote requests land in Contacts tagged lead |
What's on the Free plan
A file for every customer
Call, Email and Log a call buttons, this year's work, open jobs, last contact, and tabs for Activity, Jobs, Emails and Notes. See contacts and CRM.
A pipeline you can read at a glance
Filter by town or service, drag cards between stages on desktop, and spot quotes with no price on them. See job pipeline.
Logged by chat, from the truck
"Log a call with Reilly, wants a second estimate" files the call on the right person. A call logged with no signal waits and saves when you're back online.
Quote requests that come to you
Your free Pro Page has a quote form. Free reveals 3 requests a month; the rest are held until you upgrade.
Honest limits for a free CRM
Redline's CRM does
- Keep contacts, jobs and stages together, free for one person
- Log calls, notes and payments you tell it about
- Flag quotes that have sat too long
- Draft follow-up emails and send them from your Gmail when you approve
- Dial a customer in one tap through your phone
Redline's CRM doesn't
- Import a contact list or spreadsheet (you add people by telling the chat)
- Read or sync your inbox; Gmail is send-only, and there's no Outlook
- Text customers or track texts; logging an "sms" is only a note
- Place, record or route calls; there's no business phone number
- Connect to Mailchimp, Zapier or anything besides Gmail
- Send follow-up emails on its own
Questions contractors ask
What exactly is free?
Free includes the AI chat, contacts, the job pipeline, the calendar with the scheduling assistant and repeating visits, quotes by chat, Quick-Sort, reminders, email from your own Gmail and a Pro Page with 3 revealed quote requests a month, for one person, with 4,000 AI credits for the life of the account. Invoices, card pay links, deposits, overdue alerts, expenses and reports start on Solo at $29 a month.
Can I import my contacts from my phone or a spreadsheet?
No, there's no import of any kind. Start with the customers they're working for this month ("add Dana Ruiz, 508-555-0170, Framingham, wants a gutter cleaning") and add the rest as they call.
Does Redline read my email to find leads?
No. Connecting Gmail only lets Redline send mail you've approved, from your own address. It never reads your inbox. The Emails tab on a contact shows only mail sent or drafted through Redline.
Will it follow up with customers automatically?
No. It tells you which quotes have gone quiet and drafts the follow-up when you ask. You approve every email before it goes out.
How is this different from the CRM feature page?
Same product. This page is about the free plan. For everything the contacts screen does, see contacts and CRM.
