Service Fusion alternatives when unlimited users is more than you need.

Service Fusion's pitch is one flat price with every user included. That's a good deal for a shop with ten people and a front office. For one to four people, you're paying for seats nobody sits in. Here's what else fits.

Who Service Fusion suits, and the flat-price trade-off

Service Fusion is field service software for small to midsize service contractors: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning and more. It covers scheduling and dispatch, estimates that convert to jobs, online invoicing and payments, and two-way sync with QuickBooks Online and Desktop.

Service Fusion's pricing page lists Starter at $208 a month billed annually, or $245 month-to-month; Plus at $325 ($382 month-to-month); and Pro at $533 ($627), all with unlimited users. Pro adds a customer portal, an open API and progress billing. GPS fleet tracking is an add-on, and the vendor offers a free demo rather than a confirmed free trial.

Unlimited users is the selling point, and it's real once you have a dispatcher, a CSR and a handful of techs. For a solo plumber or a two-person cleaning team, $208 a month is a big fixed number for seats that sit empty. Two-way comparison: Redline vs Service Fusion.

Questions contractors ask

At what size does Service Fusion's flat price make sense?

Against Redline, at about 4 people. One person is $29 on Solo and up to 3 is $129 on Team. A 4th seat means Team+ at $299, and Service Fusion's Starter, listed at $208 a month billed annually ($245 month-to-month) with unlimited users, costs less from there. Compare features too, not just seats.

Does Redline sync with QuickBooks like Service Fusion?

No. Redline exports a QuickBooks-format CSV from Reports for your bookkeeper. There's no live sync with QuickBooks Online or Desktop.

Can I try Redline without a demo?

Yes. Free needs no card and no call. Solo has a 7-day trial on the web, 14 days if you pick yearly. See pricing.
