Redline vs FieldPulse: prices on the page.

Redline is free to start, and every paid plan has its price on the pricing page. FieldPulse sells seats by quote for a contract term, with no free trial. It also does a few things Redline doesn't, like full job costing and an offline tech app.

The short version

Redline doesn't sell seats up front. You start on Free as one person, with no card and no end date, and move up when the business does: Solo at $29 a month when you start invoicing, Team at $129 for 3 seats with the dispatch board and tech app, Team+ at $299 for 10. On Team+, an extra seat is $29 a month, charged prorated from the day you add it, and removing one lowers the next bill.

FieldPulse is a field service management platform for scheduling, dispatch, estimates, invoices, payments, pricebooks and job costing. It's built for companies with both office and field staff in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, septic, garage door, locksmith and other service and installation trades. Its technician app works offline, and it connects to QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Time.

FieldPulse doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page describes Essential, Professional and Enterprise plans priced by seat, with seats bought upfront for the contract term and cheaper field-only seats. Pricebook, custom forms and AI are paid add-ons. Its FAQ says there's no free trial; it offers a free demo instead.

Who should pick which

Pick FieldPulse if

  • You have office staff and field staff who need different seats
  • Your techs work in basements and crawlspaces with no signal
  • You want full job costing on every job, not just materials
  • You need QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Time connected
  • You want a guided onboarding and are fine with a contract term

Pick Redline if

  • You want to know the price without a demo
  • You're the owner and the office, and want it handled by chat
  • You'd rather add seats a plan at a time than buy them upfront
  • Profit per job after materials is enough for now (Solo and up)
  • You want to start today for $0

Questions contractors ask

Does Redline do job costing like FieldPulse?

Partly. On Solo and up you file receipts against a job (you type the vendor and amount) and Reports shows profit per job after materials. Labor isn't tracked, since Redline has no time tracking yet. See expenses and reports.

Does the Redline tech app work offline?

No. Redline needs a connection. The one exception is activity logs: a call you log with no signal waits on the phone and syncs when you're back in range.

How do seats work in Redline?

Every person counts as a seat, you included. Team has 3 and Team+ has 10, with extra seats on Team+ at $29 a month each. Techs get the app at no extra cost; each one just uses a seat. See team accounts.
