Jobber alternatives, starting with a free one.
Jobber covers quoting, scheduling, invoicing and payments, and its own material leans on lawn, cleaning and HVAC businesses. If the plan structure or the cost of adding people has you shopping, these are the tools that fit the same kind of business, with what each vendor publishes about itself.
Who runs on Jobber, and why some look around
Jobber is built for home and commercial service businesses from one-person outfits to multi-crew operations, and its own industry pages lean on lawn care, landscaping, cleaning, HVAC and plumbing. It covers a lot: quotes with optional add-ons and automatic follow-ups, a drag-and-drop calendar with route optimization, online booking, card and bank payments, and a QuickBooks Online sync.
Most of the reasons people compare are on the pricing page itself. Jobber's pricing page lists Core at $29 a month, but that price is billed annually; month to month, Core is $49. Features are split across Core, Connect, Grow and Plus, and the 14-day trial runs on Grow, so what you test drive may not be what you get on the bottom tier. Jobber also states that additional users are $29 a month each.
None of that makes Jobber a bad pick. It means a solo mower or a two-person cleaning crew should know which tier they actually need before committing to a year. For the straight two-way comparison, see Redline vs Jobber.

Questions contractors ask
Is there a free Jobber alternative?
Yes. Redline's Free plan has no time limit and covers the chat, contacts, the job pipeline and the calendar. ServiceM8's pricing page also lists a free plan for one user and 30 jobs a month. Jobber itself has no free plan; it offers a 14-day trial.
Can I bring my Jobber client list into Redline?
Not by import. Redline has no CSV or Jobber import today, so customers go in by chat ("add Maria Lopez, 617-555-0142, Lowell") or as they call. If you have hundreds of active clients, plan an afternoon for it or keep Jobber running while you move.
Does Redline handle weekly mows and biweekly cleans?
It schedules them. Book a visit as a repeating series (weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly or a custom cadence, up to 52 visits) and save the cadence as a preset. Billing isn't automatic: you invoice the visits yourself on Solo or above. See recurring jobs.
