Redline
Moving

Moving company software for the small local crew.

Redline isn't a full moving system. There's no inventory survey, cube sheet or bill of lading. What it does well is the booking, the deposit that holds the date, the crew on each truck and the final invoice for the hours you actually worked.

Booking a month-end move

Book the Castillo 3-bedroom, Malden to Medford, Saturday the 31st at 8am. 3 movers and the 26 ft truck, figure 6 hours at $189 an hour plus $150 travel. 20% to hold the date.
Redline

Booked Saturday, Oct 31 at 8:00 for Elena Castillo.

Draft quote: 3 movers and truck, 6 hours at $189: $1,134. Travel time: $150. Total $1,284, deposit at 20%: $256.80. Save it?

Save it. Put Luis on it, Andre's riding with him.
Redline

Saved. Luis has the Castillo move Saturday and it's on his phone now. To put Andre on the same truck, group them for the day on the Crew board.

Assigning movers is on Team and up. Each mover with the app uses one seat.

Where Redline fits a moving company

Deposits that hold the date

The quote carries a deposit percentage. On Solo and up, bill it as its own invoice and the customer pays by card on the pay link. You create that invoice; it doesn't happen on its own when they say yes.

Month-end without double booking

Every move sits on one calendar, so the last Saturday of the month shows exactly which trucks are already out. See scheduling.

One truck, one crew

On Team and up, Group for the day puts movers together on one truck with one shared list of jobs. The dispatch board shows who's En route and who's On job, tapped by the crew lead.

Actual hours on the final invoice

Tell Redline the real hours, the travel and any piano or long-carry charge, and it drafts the final invoice. You enter the hours; there's no clock running in the app.

Specialty items as their own lines

Pianos, safes, stairs, long carries and boxes go on the quote as separate lines, so the customer sees what each one costs, and get named in the final invoice's description.

Where it helps and where it doesn't

Small local movers live on the calendar. Leases end on the last day of the month, so the last weekend is booked solid and the middle of the month is quiet. Local moves are usually priced by the hour for a crew and a truck, and the customer wants a number up front even though everyone knows the real hours depend on how packed they are when you show up.

Redline covers that loop: book the date, quote the estimated hours with a deposit, put the crew on the truck, then bill the actual hours with travel and any specialty items. When an estimate turns into a longer day, the quote and the final invoice sit side by side, so the difference is easy to explain.

It doesn't do the regulated side of moving. There's no inventory survey, no weight or cube calculation, no bill of lading, no valuation forms and no place for DOT or state license paperwork. Interstate movers and companies that live on binding estimates need software built for that. Redline is for the local crew that mostly needs the dates, deposits and invoices straight.

Questions contractors ask

Is Redline moving company software?

It's general field service software that works for small local moves: booking, deposits, crew assignment and invoicing. It doesn't have mover-specific tools like inventory surveys or a bill of lading.

Can I bill actual hours instead of the estimate?

Yes. You tell Redline the hours worked and it drafts the invoice from them. It doesn't time the move for you, so someone has to note the start and finish.

Will it work for interstate moves?

You can quote, schedule and invoice them, but none of the regulated paperwork is in Redline. Keep that in the tools you use for it now.

How many seats do I need for my movers?

Every person with the app uses one seat, the owner included. Team at $129 a month has 3 seats. Team+ at $299 has 10, with extra seats at $29 each. Movers who don't need the app don't need a seat. See pricing.
