Locksmith software for everything after the call.
Redline won't answer your 2am lockout calls. It handles what comes after: the invoice, the card payment, a note on whose ID you checked, and the property manager who sends you six rekeys a month.
A late lockout, closed out in the van
Ready to add Marcus Bell at 41 Union St, apt 3, with a note: ID checked against the lease. Confirm below and I'll draft the invoice: $225, "Service call $95, lockout $85, after-hours $45". Approve that and the pay link goes live.
You're open at 9:00 tomorrow, before the Dunn deadbolt install. Book the Harbor rekey at 9:00?
Invoices and pay links are on Solo and up. A logged note is a record in Redline; nothing is sent to anyone.
Where Redline fits a locksmith
Invoice before you pull away
Say the service call, the task and any after-hours charge, and Redline drafts one invoice for the total. The customer pays by card on the pay link. On Solo and up. See invoicing.
Card payments on your own Stripe
On Solo and up, payments land in your own Stripe account. Redline adds no fee on top of Stripe's processing, and you can refund from Money if a lock didn't work out.
ID checks noted on the customer
Log what you checked and how as a note on the contact, with a photo if your state's rules allow it. It's a note on the file, not a dedicated ID log or a scanner.
Property manager accounts
Keep each management company as a contact and each building as a job, with key control notes. Ask "who owes me?" and the open invoices come back. See contacts and CRM.
Rekeys and installs quoted per cylinder
Quote a turnover rekey per cylinder, or lay out a rekey, new deadbolts and high-security locks as good, better and best in the quote composer (Solo and up). Your after-hours rate and per-cylinder price are remembered after you say them once.
An honest fit check
Emergency locksmith work is won in the first few minutes: answering the phone, giving a price and getting a van moving. Redline doesn't do that part. It isn't an answering service, it doesn't route calls, and it doesn't show where your vans are. If most of your revenue is late-night lockouts dispatched across several vans, a call-handling dispatch system will serve that side better.
Where Redline earns its place is the steady work and the paperwork. Property managers who need units rekeyed after every turnover. Small businesses that want a master key system quoted and installed. Homeowners who bought a house and want every lock changed. Those jobs get quoted, scheduled and invoiced ahead of time, and they're the ones that slip when you're running on no sleep.
Plenty of locksmiths work alone, which is what the Free and Solo plans are built for. You type the job in when it's done, Redline drafts the invoice, and the overdue alerts on the iPhone app tell you which property manager still hasn't paid.

Questions contractors ask
Is Redline a good fit for an emergency-only locksmith?
Partly. It's quick for invoicing and getting paid after each call, but it won't speed up how you answer and dispatch. Shops with a lot of planned commercial and property manager work get the most from it.
Can I keep records of ID verification for lockouts?
You can log a note, and a photo where allowed, on each customer. Redline doesn't have a dedicated ID log, so check what your state requires and keep that record the way the rule says.
Do I need a signal for it to work?
Mostly yes. A call you log with no signal queues and saves when you reconnect, but invoices and pay links need a connection.
Can a property manager pay later?
Yes. Invoices are due in 14 days by default. With chasing on, Redline flags unpaid ones at day 3, 7 and 14 and tells you who to call. It doesn't send reminders to the customer on its own.
