Changeout quotes, three ways, one message.

The homeowner wants to know what a new system costs, and they're getting two other bids. Redline drafts single-stage, two-stage and variable-speed options from your equipment and labor, saves them on their file, and keeps the quote in front of you until they decide.

From the sales call to the deposit

  1. Size it and look at the old unit

Do your load numbers and walk the install like always. Photograph the data plate, the coil and the line set. Redline can read the photos, but the sizing is yours.

  2. Tell Redline the three systems

Equipment for each tier, the coil, line set footage, pad, thermostat, permit and haul-away. It drafts good, better and best as three quotes, each with a deposit percentage. Tax, and all three options on one quote, are in the quote composer on Solo.

  3. Save it and email the options

The quote is saved on the customer's file; move the job to Quoted. Redline drafts an email walking through the three options, sent from your own Gmail once you approve it.

  4. Follow up while they shop

Set a reminder for three days out. If the job sits in Quoted for a week, the pipeline card turns amber and Home lists it under quotes gone quiet.

  5. They pick one, you bill the deposit

Move the job to Accepted and invoice the deposit so the equipment can be ordered. Deposits and invoices are on Solo and up.

Changeouts are won on follow-up

A replacement is the biggest ticket you write all month, and the homeowner often gets more than one price. The contractor who calls back on day three with an answer about the warranty often beats the one who was $400 cheaper and never called.

That's why the quote lives on their file, not in a PDF in your sent folder. Ask "any quotes still out?" and Redline lists them with totals. The days-in-stage count on each pipeline card tells you exactly how long the Delgados have been thinking about it.

Straight answers on HVAC quotes

Redline does

  • Let the homeowner accept or e-sign online
  • Keep a price book of equipment models

Questions contractors ask

Will it remember my equipment prices?

It remembers the prices and packages you tell it, like your install labor or your usual thermostat upgrade. It isn't a price book you import, so model prices come from you each time or from what it's saved.

How does the homeowner pick an option?

They tell you, by phone or by replying to your email. You move the job to Accepted and invoice the deposit. There's no online approval page in the live app today.

Can I quote on Free?

Yes. Quotes by chat work on Free. Billing the deposit and the final invoice needs Solo at $29 a month.

Is the deposit chased if they don't pay it?

Redline alerts you, not the customer. Bill the deposit as an invoice and the overdue alerts at day 3, 7 and 14 tell you to call. Check Money before you order the equipment.
