Gutter
Eave length plus your extra, rounded up: 120 plus 5% is 126 ft. For sectional gutter, 126 ÷ 10 = 12.6, so 13 sections.
Downspouts
Eave length over your feet-per-downspout rule, rounded up, never fewer than one: 120 ÷ 35 = 3.4, so 4.
Downspout and elbows
4 downspouts x 10 ft is 40 ft of downspout. At 3 elbows each, 12 elbows.
Hangers
Eave in inches over hanger spacing: 1,440 ÷ 24 = 60 hangers.
Three houses
5% extra, one downspout per 35 ft of eave, 3 elbows each, hangers every 24 in.

What to watch for
- Counting only. This tool doesn't size gutters or downspouts for rainfall or roof area. That's for the manufacturer's guidance and local conditions.
- Each run needs its own downspout. If the eaves are broken up by a valley or a wall, run each stretch separately; the minimum of one applies per run.
- Not counted: inside and outside miters, end caps, outlets, straps, splash blocks, extensions and sealant. Count them off the house.
- Seamless is cut on site, so skip the sections line and use the gutter feet.
- Guards go by the foot too. The eave length is your starting number.

How many downspouts do I need?
This calculator uses your own rule, feet of gutter per downspout, and rounds up with at least one per run. It doesn't size for rainfall; the manufacturer's guidance and local conditions decide that.
How far apart should hangers go?
Whatever the hanger maker's instructions or your own standard say. Set the spacing above and the count follows.
