Seasonal emails to past customers, before they call someone else.
The quickest job to book is the one you did last year. A short, specific note to people who already paid you once fills the early weeks of the season first. Three versions below, each built around what you did for them last time.

When to send each one
| Who gets it | When | |
|---|---|---|
| Heating tune-up | Furnace and boiler customers from last year | Late summer to early fall, before the first cold snap |
| AC tune-up | Last year's AC customers | Early spring, before the first hot week |
| Gutter cleaning | Last fall's cleanings, plus anyone with big trees you noted | As the leaves start to come down in your area |
| Spring cleanup | Last year's cleanups and mowing customers | Late winter, while your calendar is still open |
What to change
- Name what you did last time. It's the line that proves this isn't a mass mailing
- Offer real days, or the week you'll be on their street. Grouping the work by neighborhood is how the price stays sane
- If your price went up, say the new number plainly. See the price increase email for how
- One email per customer. A list of names in the To line tells everyone who your other customers are
Last fall's gutter list, one email at a time
6 gutter cleanings, September to November last year. 4 in Newton: Amy Lin, Rui Barros, Sean Fitzgerald and Joan Moore. 2 in Waltham: Erin Hughes and Priya Patel.
Subject: Fall gutter cleaning at Walnut St
Hi Amy, we cleaned your gutters last October, and the back run over the porch was packed solid. Once the oaks drop, they'll fill up again. I'm on Walnut St the week of the 19th and can fit you in for $185, gutters and downspouts flushed, debris bagged and hauled. Reply "yes" and I'll confirm a day.
Thanks, Nick

Here's the draft for Rui Barros.
The detail about the porch came from the job notes. Each email is its own draft you approve. No bulk sends, no texts.
Booking them back in
Everything in that chat comes from what's already in Redline: the jobs you did, the notes you left on them, and the customer's file. When someone says yes, ask Redline to find a time and it offers the best open slots, grouping visits in the same town. For the customers who want it every season, book the visit as a repeating series so the next visits are already on the calendar. See recurring jobs and contacts.
Be clear-eyed about what this is: one personal email at a time, from your own Gmail, each one approved by you. Redline isn't a newsletter or marketing tool, it never sends on its own, and it doesn't text.
Questions contractors ask
Can I send one email to my whole customer list?
Not from Redline. It isn't a bulk email tool. Each email is drafted and approved one at a time, so each one names that customer's house and last job.
Can I bring last year's customers in from my old software?
Not by import. Redline has no contact import today, so past customers are the ones you've added in Redline. You can add them by chat, one line each: "add Amy Lin, 12 Walnut St, Newton, gutter customer."
Which plan do I need?
Free. Contacts, jobs, the calendar and sending from your Gmail are all on the Free plan.
Last year's customers are this year's first jobs.
Redline is free to start. Ask who you worked for last season, then draft each email from what you did for them.
