Asking for a review, without the awkward part.
The best time to ask is right after they've told you how happy they are. One short email, one link, from you, not from a no-reply robot. This template is yours to send.
After a bigger job
Subject: A quick favor, [Customer first name]?
Hi [Customer first name],
Thanks again for trusting us with [the job, e.g. the new deck]. You mentioned [something they actually said, e.g. that the neighbors keep coming over to see it], and that made our week.
If you have a minute, would you leave us a short review? Here's the link: [Your review link, e.g. from your Google Business Profile]
A sentence or two about [what they'd naturally mention, e.g. how the crew left the yard each day] helps other homeowners in [Town] know what to expect.
Either way, thank you. If you ever need [a related service], you know where to find me.

One-liner, after a quick service call
Subject: Thanks for today, [Customer first name]
Hi [Customer first name], thanks for having us out today. If we did right by you, a short review here would mean a lot: [Your review link]
[Your name], [Company]
Click any text to change it. Fill in the parts in [brackets] before you send.
When to send it
- After they've paid, not with the invoice. Mixing the two makes both feel like a bill
- Within a day or two of them saying something nice: a text, a comment at the door, a thank-you note
- Once per job. If they don't leave one, let it go
- Never to a customer with an open complaint. Fix that first
What to change
- Quote the thing they said, or close to it. It's what makes the email personal instead of a form letter
- Use your own review link, and test it before you send
- Ask about one specific thing (the cleanup, the crew, showing up on time) so the review is easier to write
- Don't offer a discount, gift or entry in a drawing for a review. Google's rules don't allow it

Subject: A quick favor, Erin?
Hi Erin, thanks again for trusting us with the new deck. You mentioned the neighbors keep coming over to see it, and that made our week. If you have a minute, would you leave us a short review? Here's the link. A sentence or two about how the crew left the yard helps other homeowners in Needham know what to expect.
Thanks, Chris
Tap Approve & send to email it from your Gmail.
This is an ordinary email you approve. Redline drafts it and sends it from your Gmail, never by text and never on its own.
Where Redline's part ends
Redline drafts the email and, when you approve it, sends it from your own Gmail address and logs it on the customer's file. It remembers business details you've told it, like your review link and how you sign off, so you don't paste them every time. See email from your Gmail and memory.
That's where it stops. Redline has no review feature: it doesn't send review requests on its own, doesn't know whether a customer left one, and doesn't collect or show reviews anywhere, including on your Pro Page. The review lives wherever your link points.
Questions contractors ask
Does Redline ask customers for reviews automatically?
No. Redline has no review requests or review tracking. This template is an email you write or have drafted, then approve and send from your Gmail, one customer at a time.
Can reviews show on my Redline Pro Page?
No. Pro Pages don't have reviews or ratings. Your page shows your company, trade, service area, bio, photos and a quote request form.
Where do I find my review link?
In your Google Business Profile, or on whichever site you want the review. Tell Redline the link once and it remembers it for the next draft. You can edit or delete it in Settings, under Memory.
Your emails, your sign-off, from your Gmail.
Redline is free to start. Tell it who and what, read the draft, and send it from your own address.
