Some customers want a receipt for their records, their landlord, their insurance claim or their HOA. Here's one that lists the work, shows how they paid and says plainly that nothing is owed.

  • Warranty terms, since a receipt is often the proof of purchase a manufacturer asks for

Doing it in Redline

When a customer pays a Redline invoice by card, the pay page itself becomes their receipt: it shows what they paid for and that it's paid. The payment lands on your own Stripe account, Money marks the invoice paid, and you get a Payment received push on the iPhone app. That's on Solo, $29 a month. Redline doesn't email a separate receipt, so if a customer wants one on paper or as a PDF, this template is for that.

For a check or cash, Redline doesn't mark the invoice paid, since only card payments through the pay link do that. Log it on the customer's file instead, "log a payment from Helen Marsh, $727.81 check 2241", so the record is there, and hand them this receipt.
