What this template covers

  • Labor per hour, split by lead and helper rates (or use one line at a flat price)
  • Materials as a lot, or itemized if your customers expect it
  • Equipment rental per day and disposal per load
  • Permits and change orders on their own lines
  • The deposit credited after tax, so the balance due is right

Find your trade in the templates list if you want lines in your own units, like squares for roofing or panes for windows. This one is for everything in between.

In Redline, chat-first field service software, you describe the job in plain words: "invoice the Carters $3,632.50, balance on the steps after the $1,000 deposit". It drafts the invoice from their job as one amount with a one-line description, for you to approve. Keep this template when a customer wants every line itemized. Your customer gets a card pay link, and Redline flags it at day 3, 7 and 14 if it sits unpaid.

Invoicing is on the Solo plan, $29 a month with a 7-day free trial. Payments go to your own Stripe account with no Redline fee on top. See invoicing or overdue invoice alerts.
