HoneyBook alternatives built for job sites, not photo shoots.

HoneyBook is a polished client-flow tool: inquiry, proposal, contract, invoice, paid. It comes up when a contractor searches for a small business CRM. Whether it fits depends on one thing: does your work look like client projects, or like service calls?

Who HoneyBook is built for

HoneyBook is a CRM for independent service businesses. Its main audience is photographers, event planners, consultants, designers and venues, though it publishes industry pages for others, landscapers included. Proposal, contract and invoice live in one client flow, every plan has a client portal, and HoneyBook AI drafts email replies.

HoneyBook's pricing page lists Starter at $29 a month billed annually ($36 monthly), Essentials at $49 ($59 monthly) and Premium at $109 ($129 monthly). The scheduler, where clients book time and pay in one step, starts on Essentials, and so do automations, team members and the QuickBooks integration. The lowest prices need annual billing.

The work model is the catch for a trade business. HoneyBook is built around client projects, and its pages don't describe crew dispatch, a tech app, or a day of four service calls in three towns. A kitchen designer may fit fine. A plumber with two vans will be working around it. Two-way comparison: Redline vs HoneyBook.

A service day, not a client project

Move the Dawson water heater to Thursday 10 and put Marco on it.
Redline

Done. Dawson is Thursday 10am on Marco. His phone and the board are updated.

Anything still unassigned today?

One: Pruitt leaking shutoff in Quincy at 2pm. Marco is open after 1. Want him on it?

Example names. Assigning jobs to techs is on Team ($129 a month, 3 seats).

Questions contractors ask

Can I run a contracting business on HoneyBook?

You can. It handles inquiries, proposals, contracts and invoices well. The gaps show when you have several jobs a day, techs in the field or repeat visits, because its pages don't describe dispatch or a tech app.

Does Redline have automations like HoneyBook?

Not the same kind. Redline doesn't send anything to customers on its own. It drafts emails, invoices and quotes for you to approve, flags unpaid invoices at day 3, 7 and 14 on Solo, and sends you a morning push on iPhone with the day's top priority. See morning brief.

Can customers book themselves in Redline?

No, there's no online booking. The closest thing is the free Pro Page: a public page with a quote request form that drops new leads into your contacts. See Pro Pages.
