Flooring scheduling

Delivered Monday. Installed Thursday.

A flooring job isn't one appointment. The product lands, sits in the house to acclimate, gets installed over a day or three, and then you come back for transitions and shoe molding. Redline books each piece as its own visit, so when the painters run late you move the install without losing track of the rest.

Booking a flooring job in pieces

  1. Delivery day

Book the delivery or your drop-off as a short visit, with a note on where the boxes go ("garage, not the basement, it's damp").

  2. Acclimation as a gap you keep

Manufacturers often want the product in the room for a set time before install. Book the install that many days after delivery. Redline doesn't know the product's rule, so you set the gap.

  3. Install days as separate visits

A two-day install is two visits. If day two slips, move that one and day one stays.

  4. The trim trip

Transitions, quarter round and shoe molding after the other trades are done. A short visit you can move without dragging the install.

  5. When another trade runs late

The painters need two more days? One message moves the install and the trim trip together, and the delivery stays where it was.

Booking the Varga job

Varga LVP is delivered Monday at 8. Manufacturer wants 48 hours to acclimate. Book install Thursday and Friday 8am, and a 2-hour trim and transitions visit the Monday after.
Redline

Booked for Elena Varga: delivery Monday 8:00, install Thursday 8:00 and Friday 8:00, trim and transitions the following Monday 8:00. All four visits are on her file.

Painters are running late. Push the install and the trim by a week.
Redline

Install moved to next Thursday and Friday 8:00, trim to the Monday after. Delivery stays this Monday, so the boxes get extra time in the house. Want an email drafted to Elena with the new dates?

Flooring goes in near the end

On a remodel, the floor waits on drywall, paint and sometimes cabinets, and every one of those runs late. The installer who booked one big block on a paper calendar ends up erasing it three times. Separate visits make each move one message, and the customer's file keeps the whole sequence in order.

Redline won't track the delivery with the supplier or tell you how long a product needs to acclimate. It keeps the dates you set and the notes that go with them, and it suggests open slots grouped by town when you're fitting in a new job around the ones you have.

Questions contractors ask

Can my installer see the schedule?

On Team and up, your installer gets the tech app with each visit, the notes and the checklist. Team is $129 a month with 3 seats, counting you.

Can I book Saturdays?

Yes, give Redline the time and it books it. Suggested times only cover weekdays from 8 to 5.

What if the subfloor needs a repair day?

Add a visit before the install and move the install days back. Each visit moves on its own, and the delivery stays put.
