Redline vs Leap: close at the table, or run the week.

Leap is built for home improvement companies that sell in the home: a rep sits at the kitchen table, builds the proposal, takes the signature and starts the financing application. Redline is built for the owner who walks the job, quotes it later by message and runs the schedule. Redline's Free plan covers that for $0. If one-call close is how you sell, Leap does things Redline can't.

The short version

Redline fits shops where the owner is still the estimator. You leave the house, tell Redline the measurements and your prices, and it drafts an itemized quote with a deposit %. Good, better and best options and tax are in the Quote composer on Solo. The quote saves as a draft you email from your Gmail. Leads and quotes sit on a pipeline so you see which ones have gone quiet. Free covers all of that; Solo at $29 a month adds invoices and card pay links.

Leap makes Leap CRM and Leap SalesPro for home improvement contractors with in-home sales: roofing, gutters, siding, windows and doors, decking, and kitchen and bath. In SalesPro, reps pull product pricing at the appointment, build good, better and best proposals, and have the customer sign on an iPad or phone at the table or remotely. One credit application goes to up to 12 lending partners, and the app runs the appointment without wifi and syncs later. Leap CRM handles job and customer management.

Who should pick which

Pick Leap if

  • Reps run in-home appointments and aim to close on the first visit
  • Customers need financing to say yes to a $20,000 roof
  • You want the contract signed at the kitchen table, on a tablet
  • Appointments happen where the signal drops and the app has to work offline
  • You want product pricing loaded so reps can't make up numbers

Pick Redline if

  • The owner does the estimates and sends the quote that night
  • You want to see which quotes have gone quiet and who to call
  • You do repairs and service work, not only full replacements
  • You're one to ten people with no sales team
  • You want to start free and pay $29 when you start invoicing

Questions contractors ask

Can customers sign a Redline quote at the table?

No. Redline builds the quote and saves it on the customer's file; you email it from your Gmail. There's no e-signature or online approval today. If signing on the spot is how you close, Leap does that.

Does Redline offer customer financing?

No. Redline takes card payments on invoices through your own Stripe account (Solo and up), and that's it. There's no financing, ACH or payment plans.

Does Redline work without signal?

Only partly. A call you log with no signal is saved and sent when you're back online. There's no general offline mode, so quoting and scheduling need a connection.

Can Redline do good, better and best quotes?

Yes, on Solo and up: the Quote composer in Money puts options, tax and a deposit on one quote. On every plan, including Free, the chat drafts an itemized quote with a deposit % from your notes or a photo, and you can ask for a second quote to price another option.
