Redline vs Contractor Foreman: the project binder or the chat.
Contractor Foreman is construction management for small general contractors and remodelers: estimates, schedules, daily logs, time cards and QuickBooks sync. Redline is chat-first field service software for jobs measured in days, and its Free plan covers contacts, the pipeline, the calendar and quotes for $0. If you run multi-week projects with a crew on the clock, Contractor Foreman covers more of it.
The short version
Redline fits the remodeler or handyman whose week is a stack of short jobs: a vanity swap Monday, a punch list Tuesday, two estimates Wednesday. You message it to book, move and quote, and it keeps every job on a pipeline so nothing sits at Quoted for a month without you noticing. Solo at $29 a month adds invoices, deposits, expenses against each job and profit per job after materials.
Contractor Foreman is construction management software for budget-conscious general contractors, remodelers and specialty contractors, usually under 20 employees. It keeps estimates and invoices in the project record, runs project schedules, keeps daily logs (weather, crew, safety notes, materials and progress), has GPS-verified time cards with geofencing that feed job costing, and syncs estimates, invoices and expenses with QuickBooks Online. It offers a 30-day trial and a 100-day money-back guarantee.
Contractor Foreman's site lists these plans billed annually: Basic at $49 a month for 1 user, Standard at $79 a month for up to 3 users, Plus at $125 a month for up to 8, Pro at $166 a month for up to 15, and Unlimited at $249 a month with unlimited users. It says monthly billing is also available; we didn't capture those prices.
The cabinets are late. Again.
Moved Russo cabinet install to Thursday 8am. Heads up: the Kim punch list is also Thursday at 8. Want me to find Kim another time?
Kim punch list is now Thursday at 1pm. Here's a short email to Lisa Russo: the supplier pushed delivery, install is now Thursday at 8am. Tap Approve & send on the draft to send it from your Gmail.
Rescheduling applies right away. Emails go from your Gmail after you approve them; Redline doesn't text.

Questions contractors ask
Is Redline construction management software?
No. Redline has no daily logs, project budgets, time cards or Gantt schedules. It covers leads, quotes, the calendar, invoices and a crew board, run by chat. See how it works for general contractors.
Which costs less for a three-person shop?
Contractor Foreman's site lists Standard at $79 a month billed annually for up to 3 users. Redline Team is $129 a month for 3 seats, or $103 a month billed yearly. On price alone for three people, Contractor Foreman's annual plan is lower.
Does Redline track job costs?
Partly. On Solo and up you file expenses against a job (materials, fuel, equipment, other) and Reports shows profit per job after materials. Labor isn't tracked. Try the job profit calculator for a quick check.
Does Redline do change orders?
Not as a separate signed document. You can raise the job's value by chat and bill the new total. For other options, see Contractor Foreman alternatives.
