Kickserv alternatives for handymen, cleaners and movers.

Kickserv is built for small service businesses, and it has reworked its plans, which is as good a moment as any to check what else fits. Here's the short list for handyman, cleaning, moving and similar shops.

Who uses Kickserv, and what its plans hinge on

Kickserv is field service software for small service businesses: handyman and home improvement, cleaning, electrical, landscaping, locksmith, moving and restoration. It covers estimates with digital signatures, a sales pipeline, one-click and recurring scheduling, invoicing and payments, a mobile app with GPS and time tracking, QuickBooks Desktop and Online sync, and a Customer Center where clients see invoices, pay and request service.

Kickserv renamed its plans (Lite, Standard and Business became Flex, Start, Run and Scale) and its paid plans are now tiered by headcount: 5, 10 and 20 users. So your sixth person moves you up a plan. The entry Flex plan's fee is waived when you process enough online payments through Kickserv, which ties what you pay to where you take payments. See Kickserv's pricing page for the current figures; we couldn't confirm whether they're monthly or annual prices.

If those terms fit, Kickserv is a reasonable home. If you're shopping, here's what else serves the same customer. Two-way comparison: Redline vs Kickserv.

Add Ruth Feld, 88 Oak Ave, Arlington. Punch list for her rental turnover: patch two drywall holes, rehang the closet door, replace 3 outlets, caulk the tub. Find me a morning next week.

Kickserv to Redline, plainly

Kickserv has, Redline doesn't

  • Time tracking and GPS in the mobile app
  • A customer portal for invoices and service requests
  • E-signatures on estimates
  • QuickBooks Desktop and Online sync

Redline has, Kickserv users ask about

  • A chat that turns one message into a contact and a time slot
  • A Free plan with no end date
  • No fee tied to payment volume, and no Redline cut on payments
  • A free Pro Page that collects quote requests

Questions contractors ask

Does Redline take a cut of my card payments?

No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its normal processing fee and Redline adds nothing on top. Your plan price doesn't depend on how much you process.

Can my crew clock in and out in Redline?

No. Redline has no time tracking or timesheets yet, so labor isn't in its job profit numbers. If your payroll depends on clock-ins, keep that in another tool or stay with Kickserv.

Will it work for moving jobs?

For booking, quoting and invoicing, yes: crew size, truck hours and materials go on the quote, and Team lets you put a two-person crew on one truck for the day. See moving.
