Redline
Know your numbers

Busy isn't the same as making money.

A contractor business dashboard should answer three questions: what came in, what's owed to you, and what's slipping through. Redline's Home screen and Money reports answer them from your real jobs and invoices, and the chat answers them when you ask.

The owner's question

You worked six days last week. The truck's full of gas, the bank balance looks fine, and you still can't say whether this month is better than last, how much is out there unpaid, or whether that kitchen job made anything after materials. The numbers exist, spread across a bank app, an invoice app and your memory. Nobody adds them up, so you find out at tax time.

Redline adds them up as you work, because the jobs, invoices, payments and expenses already live in one place. You don't build reports. You open Home, or you ask.

Asking instead of digging

What did I collect this month, and who owes me?
Redline

$6,240 collected so far this month. Open invoices total $9,870 across 5 customers, and $2,300 of it is overdue: Marsh, 12 days.

Two jobs are done but not invoiced, worth $3,150.

How's my close rate this year?
Redline

Here's your Redline RPMs card: $142.6k collected this year, 38% of quoted jobs closed, $3,478 average paid job, 41 jobs paid, and the last 6 months trending up since June.

The two done-but-not-invoiced jobs are the quickest money on the board. Draft those invoices?

In the chat, collected and owed figures come from invoices, which start on Solo. Profit per job is in Money, Reports.

Straight answers about the numbers

Redline shows

  • Collected, outstanding and overdue, from your own invoices
  • Profit per job after materials, on Solo and up
  • Where money is stuck between sold and paid
  • Spending by job: materials, fuel, equipment, other
  • A CSV and a QuickBooks-format CSV for your accountant

Redline doesn't

  • Do your accounting or a tax-ready profit and loss
  • Count labor in job profit (there's no time tracking)
  • Sync with QuickBooks or Xero (it exports a file)
  • Connect to your bank account or card statements

Questions contractors ask

Is profit per job only on the top plan?

No. Profit per job is in Money, Reports, on Solo, Team and Team+.

What about cash and checks?

Tell the chat ("Hartley paid $600 cash") and it logs the payment on the customer's record. That's a record on their file, not an invoice payment. Move the job to Paid and Home counts it as collected. Card payments on Redline pay links land in Money on their own.

Can my accountant use this?

Reports export a plain CSV and a QuickBooks-format CSV. Redline isn't accounting software, so your accountant still does the books.

Does the dashboard need setup?

No. It fills in from the jobs and invoices you already have. Everything on it is your live data, with no sample numbers.

What plan do I need?

Home is on every plan. Reports, expenses and profit per job start on Solo at $29 a month. See pricing.
